To mark her 100th year, Joyce Johnson's book, Lifetime Memories in Verse, has been released by Publisher Gary Drury and is now available for purchase on Amazon.com.
There was quite a diverse group of entries for the Green Rhymes Contest and I enjoyed reading all of them. One very creative and witty write rose to the top in this contest, so the green jewelry goes to Robert Hinshaw, whose tale of a greenhorn would-be cowpoke gave me the most laughs and was presented especially well. I hope you will all join me in congratulating Bob, whose poem can be found at the link on the bottom of this blog.
The Easter Series has now concluded with two winners tied for first place, Sandra Haight and Nina Parmenter. They entered each of the five contests in the series, winning some and placing high in others. Both talented ladies will receive special prizes and agreed to share first place. (My sister was on stand-by for a potential runoff, but it was not needed.) Nina will receive the multi-gemstone cross pendant and a special package of surprises will go to Sandra. Congratulations to these fine writers!
I would like to thank everyone who participated in the Easter Series and congratulate once more all those who received prizes. I expect to take a short break from the Soup to tend to other matters, but will return soon.
Now, if you're ready for a laugh, here's a link to Bob Hinshaw's winning poem in the Green Contest:
