Greetings my friends. I am looking forward to working together with you. I am Prof. Amb. Dr. Joseph. S. Spence Sr., a prolific, worldwide acclaimed award-winning, best-selling poet. I follow my faith and am a World Peace Ambassador of Human Rights, Humanity, and International Diplomacy. My mother taught me how to read, write, interpret, and recite poems in high school, and have uplifted worldwide humanity with inspiration since. Served in poetic leadership positions, conducted seminars, recitals, and assisted poets worldwide to publish the golden words from their crystal inked musing pens. I authored ten uplifting poetry books and numerous peer-reviewed articles. My recent book, “Sincerely Speaking Spiritually,” uplifts and inspires souls to press on and achieve the highest heavenly prize for which ordained. I studied English literature, creative writing, African Diaspora, Japanese linguistics, and poetry at the University of Maryland Global Campus, Howard University, and the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. During my military service as a decorated U. S. Army officer, I wrote poems for my comrades in arms who named me “Apollo,” Greek god of poetry. Received worldwide awards for my uplifting poems, short stories, and articles. Inducted into various International Scholastic Honor Societies. Governor William Clinton appointed me Goodwill Ambassador for Arkansas, USA.

Jumping Jupiter, a jubilant sundae lover, and just a jewel.
Oppressed liberator, optimistically captivating; oratorical.
Saintly passionate, succulent salmon sampler; sweetheart.
Exquisitely enchanting, enchantingly amatorious; éclat.
Playful, painstakingly passionate, pajama wearer, patient.
Handsomely helpful handyman, harmonizer of happiness.

So sensationally super; Sagittarius son of John Spence.
Pleasantly personable, and matriarch Maud Spence’s son.
Enabling, exquisite, eloquent, evolving, and enterprising.
Naturally nice, no-nonsense, and a nutritional nobleman.
Carrot consumer, constant comrade, and cold-war veteran.
Heavenly enlightened, and just an elegant eggnog taster.

Sweet as syrup, shining armor off the shelf; savoir-faire.
Red-blooded poetry connoisseur and radioactively lovable!

Casualty and Theft Loss Tax Deductions

       During a conversation with a friend who recently returned from an assessment of the damage in New Orleans, it was obvious that devastation still affects the region and many are still in need of assistance. One of the most commonly missed areas of assistance is the tax deduction for casualty and theft losses. This is one avenue whereby help is available through the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) in the form of a casualty loss tax deduction to individuals who are subject to such devastating losses as those persons in New Orleans.
       When real or personal property is loss during a natural disaster such as an accident, earthquake, storm, fire, flood, hurricane or tornado, or as a result of theft, burglary, embezzlement, extortion, larceny, robbery or the like, which resulted from a sudden, unexpected, or unusual occurrence, one should consider filing a claim for casualty and theft losses with the IRS. All of the losses may not be recovered; however, the casualty loss deduction may lead to a reduction of taxes, a lower tax bracket, or a possible refund. Therefore, consideration should be given to the filing of IRS Tax Form 4684 to claim these losses. 
       There will be occasions when property insurance may not cover all of the losses incurred, or if covered, the recovery may be pro-rated or depreciated. Remember that the IRS tax deduction is available for a claim of the remainder of the loss. Additionally, the casualty loss may be carried forward for several years if the maximum amount has been claimed in the present or past years.
       If there is a friend or family member who has sustained a loss as a result of any of the above-stated disasters, inform the person sustaining the casualty loss to use the tax deduction by filing a claim, or lose it by not filing a claim. As always, check with your tax consultant for more specific information.

I appreciate this kind of intellect- and your spiral galaxy picture intrigues me- as a major reader/fan of astronomy-which led me into cosmology which inturn led me to a love of physics. Joseph, I commend you for the great things that you have done to help others. I too, being a volunteer for Salvation Army have gone out when needed. I am into Ham Radio to help with communications as needed. I also read where you were 20 years Army in law enforcement. I congratulate you for protecting me. I don't live in the USA however, it's good to know that your gov. gives provisions to people that may have lost most, if not all, of their in a disaster like Katrina. I pray for those who are still there and haven't been able to get their lives back in order. God doesn't give you more than you can bear. Good info to have Joseph...I'm sure it'll be useful to many who'll read it. :)

Thanks Joseph. I have friends who were affected by Katrina in New Orleans. What concerns me is that they are all willing to return there post hurricane and revert to the same lifestyle. Am I missing something here?
