Infectious Flower

My once precious flower, Your fragrance has plateau: The beetles lurking in the dark, and crawling with the thrust of the wind when it’s light are mischievous, and they have no love within their hearts. Enveloping the essence of your core, and your once flourishing inner beauty; they have uncovered your shining passion of lost light, which was once a beacon of hope, thus, your once lovable soul—they now consume! ~~~~~~~~~~~***~~~~~~~~~~~ © Joseph S. Hello Joseph The depth of this poem really touches the core of my imagination with untrique! To me the flower seems to represent a good hearted soul that's been taken advantage of by those who prey upon vulnerablities. Bravo! Ihave read this a couple of times and for some reason can really relate to that flower for we have all been it at one time or another in our lives. Take care Love Light Truth Patricia PS Thanks for your latest comments, Very much appreciated!

I'm not sure how I missed this one when it was first posted, however, I'm so glad I caught it! Such a imaginative poem. .. excellent writing. Those darn beetles!! They do consume the beauty...I suppose that is nature's way. Nicely done! ~ Carrie

Joseph, this one touches the core of the soul. The symbolic imagery of the lovely flower loosing its sweet scent and being consumed by the beetles is truly heartrending indeed... I think that perhaps I'd rather wither and return to the soil to be reborn than to suffer such a fate... Great writing! I thank you for sharing the read. God's Love and Many Blessings, Always, Adell

Love this poem, Joseph! So clever "Your fragrance has plateau"..something level, but unfortuately in it's stability it can't progress. I will miss the flowers when the snow comes to cover them.:( I will miss the tree frogs also.:( Thank you for the comment...the clam is fun to write about..impossible to hate, but difficult to love. This poem is a feeler..one may feel a kindred alliance to this flower. God bless you and yours, Joseph..love to you..Mikki

I had to read it many times before I could drop a comment! This one's very deep and powerful. As I felt its very nostalgic, maybe a memory of lost love and the future of the beautiful lover. Had a pleasure reading it. Love, Chitra

I love your pot of flowers, but not the insects. Like myself, you must believe in flowers as being very much alive and with a certain intelligence. this is what comes through. Great job! Love, daver

I think you are comparing the love of your life to a flower, her beauty, her fragility, her scent . . i think! But well done, its an inspiring piece of poetry!! Thank You for commenting on me - I have no mystery or myth hidden in me, I am what I write, what I say and what you see!! Peace Fathima

is it a downfall of beauty against the nature of evil? or morals gone askew perhaps? This deep poem can have many interpretations indeed. A very cerebral write here Joseph! Thanks for your comment on my write, that was also my favorite line "the great divide.. " that is. I don't know what part of my brain's crypt I drew out those words from hahahaha!!!! Much respect. Olongapoet (I hail from the city of Olongapo in the Phils, thats why the name :o)

Yes, I need to read this a few times Joseph. Perhaps a love lost, misguided somehow, or otherwise consumed. A nostalgic remembrance of what once was. A most intriguing and unique write which opens the readers imagination. Hope all is well. Love, Shar
