Lose That Bloody Eye

For heaven's sake, can somebody at Soup HQ get rid of that damned little eye. Once again, today, I find I have inadvertently blocked a fellow Souper. In this case, Terry Miller. Apologies Terry, I've unblocked you now. This has happened to me three times now and to this day I remain unforgiven by one Souper for a mistake I didn't even know I had made. So many of us use touch screen tablets nowadays and the tiniest brush across that eye symbol means you've blocked someone. I only discovered that I'd blocked someone this time around because I felt my little finger brush my screen. On checking I hadn't blocked that person but at some time or other I had blocked someone else.  It's an appalling design/layout, that even a pop up 'confirm block' button would fix. So please sort this out - pronto!

Terry you’re a gem, this means all the poets who’ve blocked me, have done so by accident, I can get a good nights sleep at last, nah it really is a bad layout, hopefully they’ll do something about it!

Go to your member page every now & then and under my links click on blocked poets and you'll see who you've put there & undo if you wish

That’s exactly my point. I know I haven’t blocked anybody, and yet when I check as you suggest, Craig, there's a name there. Yes, I can and do unblock that person, but in the meantime they’re busy wondering how they’ve offended me.

I too wonder if I have blocked someone ! My fingers are unruly and I am not tech savvy nor careful ! I agree with what Terry has shared here. I haven't intentionally blocked anyone as there was no reason to block anyone......and my soup mail keeps giving me wrong notifications. So I don't use it too

As Craig describes above, unblocking someone is dead easy, Valsa. What annoys me the most, is that the positioning of the eye symbol is a problem, waiting to happen. In terms of website layout its a total schoolboy error.

Well said Terry it needs to be moved, I too blocked someone by mistake and I have been blocked in error. Yes it's a necessity because we know there are a few idiots on here but put it at the top of the page out of the way. I've got into the habit now of checking the blocked poets now and again. Tom

On the one hand, Tom, it seems like a trivial thing as it’s easily fixed. I do check periodically, especially if I feel that accidental brush of the screen, but there’s no mention of dates so someone could have been blocked for weeks. The first time this happened to me, I only found out when I realised that I hadn’t heard from regular ‘contacts’ for ages.
