New Feature -Poet's Notes About the Poem

The old Premium Member feature "About this poem" has now been replaced by Poet's Notes About the Poem. Instead of a pop-up it displays in-line with the poem above the title and is open by default. At first, I didn't like it because I didn't want my notes to be read before the poem. But now, I realize that it can be used for a different purpose, i.e. to display an image for the poem, a feature which apparently existed at one time, but was removed.

I did find that the image you use needs to be tweaked a bit to display properly. I found that changing the width to 600 px, using a left margin of 150px and a right margin of 50px will center it and maintain the proportions. Put 600 in the Width box. You'll have to tweak the margins in the source HTML to get the image to center properly. Just put some number in the HSpace box and then click Source. Edit the "style" attribute.

Just three questions Roy...Why would a poet want a picture, isn't the poem the picture?Doesn't that defeat the point of the poem?

I understand a caveman wanting to do it, but I don't think three poets would, I might be wrong...mabe I'm old fashion and still believe the mind creates the greatest pictures..seems we'll have to agree to disagree

Three cavemen are sitting around the fire discussing this new "writing" thing. Why do you want to write your poem down? You can't hear the intonations or the style in which it is recited! It has no flavor! Back to present- Some folk have put some of their poems on YouTube, with music, and changing pictures or videos while reciting. There's room for all.

oh geez, this is like reading greek for me. I barely understand simple copy and paste, Roy. Maybe one day I will get it. It seems like a great feature they have given us.

You can just insert the image the usual way. My tweaks are for geeks ;)

I wont be using it David I get such vivid images and inspiration from reading the work of others. Now if the site could Just sort out the issue with formatting poems THAT would be a huge improvement!!!!!! Hugs Jan xxx
