Weighing Up Bittersweet Goodbyes

Goodbye cuts the air
with an odd, misshapen lance-
too sharp to swallow
it lingers on ragged breath
it's aftertaste scalds the soul

It feeds like a beast
clawing at the heart's locked gate
demanding more tears
its anger never subsides
its hunger never sated

Yet inside the wound
a new dawn begins to break
away from parting
sweetening bitter sorrows
with a palatable sauce

Sometimes, a person
Is measured from neck to head
Much more, if he talks.

In the abyss of a heavy silence, I feel like an anchor weighing down dreams

I call tenderly for shadows that can permeate me, a sublime rebirth,
To pour into me a new life, transfigured, with meanings finely woven in time's girth.

Weighing a Smile

When weighing a smile
you measure its worth;
against the truth of
its sincerity.

Passion and desire
fuel hearts on fire;
and yet, fickle flames
sometimes flicker out.

Salvaging fragments
of shattered ego;
you suddenly feel
quite vulnerable.

And donning your mask
of obscurity;
you seamlessly slip
into the shadows.

What's Weighing Heavy On My Heart

I just feel compelled to say
what's weighing heavy on my Heart
but you've moved on, no wish to stay
or speak of what drove us apart.
It wounds me so, now that I know
you no longer care for me.
While I think of you- still dream of you!
You chill me with your apathy

The diamond surely earns its flawless boast.
As cruel time eats flesh and powders bone,
The rock retains one form, outlasting most.
