A Hot Eve
heat from earth rises
caressing my humid skin
dry spell gently grills
the fragrant jasmine blossoms
under electric halo
night awaits a balmy morn

Premium Member tribute to the sun
Warm sun enhances my garden like yard
Filing spaces between shadows and mushrooms
She feels like a slow-moving oven set on low
I lean into her grills, loving the well-deserved bake....

Keep still

Brave heart
Frames art

Sight seeks
Mind meek

Love looms
Flings blooms

Calm lease
Pure ease

Thoughts merge
Clear urge

Buzz best
Fond quest

See if you can
Hear what goes round
As your mind scans
A glimpse you found.

Hear the stray feel
In shades and tints
As time now grills
A touch that hints.

Sense a fond sight
Where colours stream
With vivid light
In surreal dream.

Can you feel
A hungry poem shout?
Note free will
As wild hunger hurls bout.

Can you know
What a hungry poem bills?
Now just show
As mad hunger gains will.

Can you see
What a hungry poem does?
Seed to be
As harsh hunger grills fuss.

Dark is the night
In deep dark flight

Grim is the sway
In sad grim play

Harsh is the pain
In blunt harsh strain

Pain cuts the flesh
In mad pain dash

Surge of odd feel
In deep surge grills

Shades of dark thoughts
In mad shades plot

Beach Glimpse
I love to watch the ocean blue
The white and gray seagulls diving and dipping low
Schools of fish swimming in neat oriental rows.

Grills setting free the smells of wonderful food cooking
While guests on the beach stand on looking

beautiful sun rays catching ripples and making them gleam
this is the happiest ive ever felt, so it seems....

Insensitive Grim Reaper
We were in at the kill
When he took ill
We gave him every pill
But his body grew cold and still

Caught in a strange chill
We put death through the mill
But in vain were all our grills
And all our prayer drills

Gone with all his learning and skills
Leaving behind no Will but only frills
With lots of unpaid bills
Death considers not our earthly thrills...

Dissociation
The gaze of strangers grills me to perfection
and I stew in all my fat.
It burns; I roast; I char into numbness.
I float around the carcass
as cooked sinew and boiling juices.
My being discarded with the offal
My skin is fried
I punch my thighs
but my fists go through tender meat.
I lay here as a shell of what I could be
My thoughts beyond the galaxy
You'll never find me...

Bill To Pay On a Hill
As she felt the thrills,
Fanned out big nostrils,
Triumphant shout shrill...

No chef her son drills
But now meat he grills,
Fulfilled mum's song shrill!

Now,Daughter weaves frills
And as she does trills!

Son, Men took for dumb;
When he was born,numb;
Daughter worse than crumb
With the clumsiest thumb...

Rose shall climb a hill
To pay God's Praise Bill!...

Before the Deluge
They’ve closed the schools, they’ve stopped the trains;
They’ve shuttered up the gym.
Evacuations are in place;
The outlook’s kind of grim.

The stores are mobbed, the traffic light,
The grills all brought inside.
The TV stations tell us
Readiness should be our guide.

With bottled water on the shelf
And AA’s up to date,
We gaze out windows, watch the wind
And warily, we wait....

Premium Member Vacation At the River
River never sleeps by the city, nightlights highlight the dance craze faze of evening party-goers upon blue waves; swimmers sailboats descend during days. Time speeds by as children thrill yelling splashing elation-filled river walk’s, shopping sprees raking in green dollar bills; folks enjoying summer grills, need tummy pills by vacation’s end.

The Moose At the Door
THE MOOSE AT THE DOOR

In Fairbanks

Winter days are bitter
Nights are deadly frigid
Tires are square
Breath freezes into icy scarves
Auto grills spew plugs like old TVs
In Fairbanks
In the dead of winter

Alaska winter tears the green
Out of the trees

Brittle cold conquers the land
And moose
Deadly dangerous
Desperate to feed their young
Beg at the door
Like raging Buddhist monks with rice bowls...

Rhythm Rustling Riffs
gaunt green gnawed
gullible groove gored
gutsy grills gulped
glitched gems gulled
graced gifts globbed
gripping glows' gourd

callous clouds cussed
cremating clips cupped
crumbling cruise clubbed

nosy nature nimble
nudging nectar's nipple
nasty nerd nestled

wanky wind wields
rhythm rustling riffs

An Excuse To Write

Every single day, when pain has its say,
All I can do is pray,
I feel down-and-out, wanting to shout,
God removes my doubts;

With no cure, it's hard to endure,
But, God's Word is sure,
This won't kill me, though it grills me,
He stills me;

Amidst this daily fight, God helps me write,
Which gives me delight,
My pain's an excuse to sit and muse,
A way out of my blues.

The rain dashed itself against the asphalt. Angled, silver, shards, pummeled the pavement, Pelted puddles in a staccato rhythm. Rapidly expanding and contracting circles, Cha cha-ed to the sound of castanets. Drain grills gaped and filled gurgling. Geysers erupted from the centrifugal spin of tires. The din of tin-tapped metal brightened the air. And with the lushness of life and rebirth; A spring day dawned.

The Bottle Collector
Who does she know?
Nobody.

No friends.
No family.
No neighbours.

Not true.
People live next door
Behind grills
But are they there?

When you live in the world’s most expensive city
Your needs become a threat to those who have something
When you do not.

She sleeps through the day,
Not crying.
Never speaking.
Eyes blank.

At night she rises
In the cool
And pushes her trolley
To collect cardboard and cans.
Alone....

What I Told Bill
What I told Bill
My voice unchanging and shrill
Was about life in water necessitating gills
And the ones on fire, grills
The left spaces for man to fill…
And it should be mainly about his will
But not less intensely his zeal

The same I had disclosed to Jill
But it didn’t him at all thrill:
On some angered bottle spending a dollar bill
And glumly ascending a closely bill
From his valley-sited vacant mill
Always life depicting as The Still....

Grandma's Cooking
On the stove, in the laundry, office,
Living room, spare bedroom and none
Of your bee's wax. Bear's bite.
Dogs bite fingers, finger licking good!
Grandma's cooking is! Grandpa grills
A mean steak and chicken, shishkbob
I marinate. Yum! Tuna, macoroni and
Cheese, salads, teas, coffees, sweet treats,
Turkey and ham, potatoes and stuffing,
Cranberry sauce, green beans, greens,
Glazed carrots and much more! At my door
Yellow tulips and red roses await your arrival. :-)...
