worn as scars from rejection

escape needs fulfilled
covers hold two stories told ~
desperate duet

Serging Through Life's Stitches with Scars

Serging through life, I whipstitch, weft, and welt,
But always, my thoughts are pick-threading.

As stippled patches of emotion rise and fall in me,
See me, feel me, touch me, heal me
Just too many scars.

The mindless mind stresses itself through mental snares,
I waste away beneath it all, piecing and pondering.
Where the struggling soul and pleating body meet,
I seek

Russia has a fang deep into the neck of Ukraine.
Iran flicks its tongue on the thighs of Israel.
While the red Panda has Island lotus dreams.

Rugged Patches

Along life’s pathway we encounter rugged patches
Times when nothing seems to go as we planned,
Smelling the roses is often accompanied by scratches
But, overall, wouldn’t you agree life is quite grand?

UV rays soak into my skin,
                          browning it slightly
                     

His Jacket of Patches

You'd see him out in the early morn
   He'd sweep up trash others scorn
 
       a smile on his face
       on his lips an old song
       his jacket of patches

You are having many a hue with you
Just a few drops I beg of you to lend me

In Memory of Patches

I kept my Patches living with medication and trips to the Vet for a year.
But, I did not mind because I loved her so much. She had cancer and would
die.  I put that in the back of my mind and enjoyed each day I still had left 
with my precious girl.  In time,

all moments of life
looking for a pretty 
quilt to display 
but some patches 
are misplaced
we overlook those
a missewn piece 
some edges frayed 
yet all the imperfections
all the dog-eared pages of
life give character 
to each story

strewn together form paragraphs
and paragraphs are knitted into chapters 
chapters into books
great museums and galleries

Plant a garden by the roadside,
so passerby's can see,
the beauty of the flowers

"Me" meaning all of us,
who do not have a yard,
and appreciate the beauty
displayed in your front yard.

The beauty of bright flowers
are like a balm to me.
As if God's smiling face is there
for passerby's to see.
