The Entertainer

Up on stage the worlds his own
He gives the crowd a spellbinding show.
Leaves the stage to rapturous applause.
And always leaves them wanting more.

But as the curtain falls and the lights are dimmed
The demons inside him begin to set in.
His doubts and fears eat into his skin.
As the walls around him begin to close in.

My uncle’s name is Keats.
He eats all kinds of sweets.
This habit, his caring wife hates
Saying that his sugar levels it dilates.
		
One day one of his friends visits his house,		
Hands over a box of sweets to his spouse.
To have one from it he tries,
This, his wife strongly denies.
Secretly he looks for them like a mouse.

Charmed by her exotic glance
She enchants a sexy dance
In costumed display of art
Strumming rhythms of joyful heart
Choreographing slow grooves
In graceful, musical moves
As gestures paint passion themes
And song of love stokes their dreams
When desires-enamored spree
Hypnotized in tunes of glee

But look closely, watch her sigh
Hear the bawl of tearless cry
When crowds deceitful extol
Exhibit of anguished soul
As smiles

A True Entertainer

He always started his 1-minute video with the intro: "Turn to any page of St. Faustina's Diary, and you'll find spiritual gems, like this one!..." and then he'd read one of her quotes he'd chosen. Kind of like how this haibun is starting out with a paragraph... except he didn't conclude it with a haiku.

Barefoot Entertainer

Her life started in Tucson, Arizona.
She would be known all over America.
This pretty brunette had many hit songs.
A personal place of admiration is where she belongs.
Melodies like "Different Drum" sounded very sweet.
This lady always performed on stage in bare feet.
Her career had to end due to a physical ailment.
This bad stroke of luck forced her

I don't know what are God's plan for me 
I am so tired living in misery
I was born with talent to please people
Some say I'm brilliant some think Im a fool

Sometimes Im serious sometimes Im funny
People loved me coz Im the life of the party
Friends come to me for serious advise

dancing puppets

Stars shown twinkling delight
mask global death

My favorite football team
diverts my attention

Smiling ringmasters bow to each other
chosen talent cheered like god
(even call themselves jesus)

While blinded by the sun (tv)
the world devil cult
plays us like a game of cups

Cows, smiling, entertained to satisfaction

 Wanted to help and please 
  Born to be used for a purpose 
   To profit from and care less 
    No need to be upset

I am the Entertainer, I’m known most everywhere.
And every place I go, the people stop and stare.
For I have talent great, and I have talent rare.
And my life’s only mission, is that my songs I share.

My voice is strong and powerful, and has great quality
I know that all my audience, can’t sing as well as

For the briefest moment His face shines upon you,

You are the center, the focus, all that is important in that flash.

In His gaze your are nurtured and grow to your prime,

In that single glimpse you see in His eyes the briefest image of what you can attain.

She is a personality too few people know.
I see her each night behind her white grand piano.
Her sweet singing voice fills the air.
People drink in the lounge, but do not seem to care.
This woman looks as attractive as the way she sings.
She dresses in a silk gown with sparkling earrings.

The Beach Entertainer

Miles of broken, sunbaked seashells,
resembling pieces of porcelain of lesser value,
lying across a populous beach subdued by misty blue,
as hungry sea-gulls pounce the fiddler's crabs..


The beach entertainer draws huge crowds;
singing funny songs and making comic skits
by spicing up his unique modus operandi,
and modestly mocking his modus vivendi...


He has never made lots of money,
but settles for

Perfect Entertainer

Curtin closed, sky is black,
                        The King you know, won’t be back.
