Hello to all my dear poets here on PS! It's indeed a great honor for me to sponsor my very first contest! I'm so inspired by all of you especially my very dear friend, Linda/PD to launch it. I'll be joining her and with the other three awesome friends here for the Tanka Festival and we can call mine, Tanka Crazy for I can see everyone is enjoying their composition of Tankas! So, I'll be looking forward for your participation and I hope you'll enjoy! Thank you so much!
What is Tanka?
A Japanese poem of five lines, the first and the third composed of five syllables
and the others seven. In Japanese, Tanka is often written in one straight lines, but
in English and other languages, we usually divide the lines into the five syllabic
units:5-7-5-7-7. However, you can also refer to Suzette's form.
Please see PD's or Suzette's best examples. You can also see mine if you want (smile)
