I WAS ME

First I was me,

Selfish as can be,

Wanting everything from A to Z

And wanting it all for me.

Then I became we,

A part of an us.

I learned to share, give and take

I learned how to trust.

Next I was you,

Believe me it's true.

I would rather give than receive,

It was you I wanted to please.

Now I am them,

A family man.

Giving my children,

All that I can.

If you look real close,

It is easy to see,

I am older and wiser,

And no longer a me.

Just Stopping By to Say, "Thanks"

Blog Posted:8/13/2012 11:09:00 AM
I know I have said this before.  And, I know I have committed to trying to do better.  But the fact still remains; I am not a very good PS citizen.

So, I just want to once again, apologize for not submitting as many comments as I should.  I do read poems when time allows (admittedly some of my time is spent writing instead of reading and doing other hobbies I enjoy), but I just seldom leave a comment.  There are several reasons why – but I need not get into them – I just wish to apologize.

But, that is not really why I am writing this blog.  The real reason is not to say, “Sorry”, but rather, to say, “Thank You”.

Yes, “Thank You.”

Thank you to those of you who continue to read and post comments on my poems even though I have not responded in kind!!!!  I do appreciate it – and, even though I know the best way to show that is to comment on your poems as well, I just haven’t been doing that as frequently as I know I should.

So, Thank You!!

I really do appreciate those of you who continue to read and comment on my poems.  You make me feel good about my poetry and give me the motivation to continue writing and I want you to know that I am thankful for each and every one of you.

I see poets that have 100s of views and many, many comments on their poems, and I understand that that is the result of being a good PS citizen.  I understand and accept why my poems are viewed by far fewer and receive so few comments … and that is why I want those few who do take the time to read and comment to know that I am grateful and I love you for it.

So, one more time … “THANKS”!!!!

If you have read this blog and are one of those who I am referring to … I am sure you know who you are and I hope you feel the appreciation I sincerely hold.  I love you more than you can know and am sure there are many others here that must feel the same way about your generosity and willingness to comment on another’s poems.  You’re all the best!!!

Your are right Joe, to be sincere, I also get few comments, but to be frank, I prefre one truthful and totally heart felt comment, than 100 flat comments. That's why I am always graceful and greatful when I get just one or non comment, because a great peom is a great poem. It might not shine today, but if it's a master piece, it shall surely make it waves. Joe I really adore your poems keep it up and never stop writting. *More writting blessing* Kingfemi

Let's just say Andrea has a feminine side that you lack Ruben. Like I said, nothing personal, totally male chauvanistic.

I always love getting a comment from you Andrea. And, no offense to Ruben ... but, you are NOTHING LIKE RUBEN ... thank goodness!

I am a bit like RUben. I comment to the people commenting to me, but when I have time to go to the new poems by poets list and I see one of yours, I often take a look because I know what a great writer you are!! And I often get to see poems of new poets by seeing them on contest winner lists.

Thanks Gwendolen. You have taken the time in the past to tell me about you and your daughters reading my poems ... I am touched and humbled. And, don't worry about my last name - it is actually pronounced the way you spelled it the first time and people either spell it wrong or say it wrong. No big deal - I am not insulted either way.

Ruben - I completely understand, many times it is simply the luck o the draw. Tanya - Write On ... Right On!! Love it. Vie - Thanks. And yes, you are one of the guilty parties I was referring to, thanks. Joann - evidence suggests you do a much better job than I. Thanks.

I try to read a variety of poets daily, but do not always leave comments. Thanks for the thanks.

Thanks Mandy and David. You both are great. You are two of the biggest culprits in the bunch. If anyone ever wants to know, "Why is that damn Joe Flach still posting poems here." They pretty much have you to blame. ;-)
