I am Robert James Liguori. I have authored several technical books including The Java Pocket Guide. I have spent twenty years in the aviation community doing software development and testing. Currently, I'm spending my time writing poetry trying to make a small, yet positive difference in this world... one word at a time.

Deep Purple Poetry Contest

You haven't lived until you have sampled some of Deep Purples music. They have such a rich following and tribute bands too such as Deeper Purple and Strange Kind of Women. Their songs are epic like Speed King, Smoke on the Water, Burn and Perfect Strangers. This contest will have you writing a poem inspired by one of their songs. Make it epic as it's a premiere contest with first place getting a digital trophy. Good luck and I look forward to reading and judging your poems inspired by Deep Purple songs!

Of all the CD's, music etc that I have, the most of any band is 'Deep Purple' I last seen them with Eloisa in 2017. They've written some memorable songs, far to many to mention. I have a lot of time for Stevie Morse, awesome guitarist. If I was to do a poem, I'd do one using the track titles from one or two of their albums like I've done with Heart, Journey, Foreigner, Touchstone. It sure gets the mind thinking of a theme. I'm not much for contests. I do like Deep Purple and if I was going to do one I'd do something on Child in Time
