Friday

For some the beginning.
For some it's the end.
For many; days just merging
Into the blend.

But the concept of Friday
Is simply this;
It's the end of the work-week
Sealed with a kiss.

It's assurance of respite.
It's that glorious space
Loaded with promise.
It's the end of the race.

That comfiest armchair
Those slippers so snug.
It's like greeting a friend
With a lingering hug.

Is it really enough
If it's one out of seven?
Or should we be seeking
A little more heaven?

I think as I drive
Through the Autumnal streets
That all days are precious
And while life repeats..

Relax and enjoy them
Wherever you are..
For loving the journey
Will help take you far.

So Fridays, we love you,
To the end and the start.
And thank you for helping me
Reset my heart.

Oh, the sheer delight of Fridays expressed in your wonderful rhymes, Christopher! But I also like finding the value and blessings in the gift of each precious day - finding something to be grateful for at the end of the day. Enjoyed this so much. Blessings to you every day and, as Andrea says, TGIF!

Hello my friend. I love this poem and I love your soothing tones with the narration ( one of the best so far) You really have got a great recording voice which always enhances your beautiful poetry. Your voice made it seem very ‘personal’ like you were addressing the reader which made it all captivating. I love the reminder of treasuring all days. We all wish our lives away wishing it was this day or that day. We should make everyday ‘Friday’ :) Really enjoyed reading this very reflective,

Yes here in the maldives friday is weekend, and i love Fridays, it’s when i can just be makeup free, and not socialise, as an introvert socialising can get a bit overwhelming! Good Friday to you chris! And also i love the depth of this poem.i love the picture used here too. Sending you light
