Contemplation

Today is a contemplative day.
Not a day of joy but of thought.
A wrestling of sorts within.
I hope to find some clarity.

What lies have I told to myself?
What have I chosen to believe?
Can there be escape from myself?
I hope that the answer is yes.

So I sit thinking of my days
Into which cup I'm pouring life
Is there time to hold something back
Or have the sands blown away

All the answers I thought I knew
Now they seem like a cosmic joke
Still there's a difference I can make
All I need is courage to change

Yes, it all needs courage... Thanks to your poem, we won't feel alone, doing the job. This will be, it seems, a new anthem for everybody!:) Love, Hanitra

I wish I had more of these contemplative days. I'm such a hopeless procrastinator! Perhaps I should get into meditation, no? Seriously though, this was very deep writing... I always feel a bit wiser and less stressed when I read your work.

A journey into one's conscience is always great for the mind and soul. An intelligent piece of work Richard.

There is always wisdom in what you write, and something I can take away. Thank you for being you.

We all need time to look inside and to contemplate the deeper things in life. Great write...my favorite lines: So I sit thinking of my days Into which cup I'm pouring life. Reminds me of one of my favorite verses: Psalm 139:16 Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.

When one musters the courage to look it can be a life altering moment, very touching verse Richard, we should all clean house once in a while, thank you for the sweet reminder xxx
