About This Poem

Ice Cube

colorless, humble and a miracle on a heated day
ice is nice
why can’t my warm heart melt your icy stare
you show so consciously for all to see
fire is in me burning
to turn your ice heart to the splash of water
so I could drink you in
taking away the stony ice barrier you present
be magically deformed in the warm sun
and let me melt your cold cold heart

If one isn't willing to turn their own pilot light on, nobody will ever be able to remain warm around that person. Excellently done!
