About This Poem
THE OLD LIGHTHOUSE
The old lighthouse has many shadows,
though it once cast welcome light,
waves on the coast and a weeping ghost
echo laments in the dead of night.
The old lighthouse still has a keeper,
Though no keeper there now stays,
waves on the coast and a weeping ghost
slowly erode deception away.
The old lighthouse shields a dark secret,
though bloodstains will never lie,
waves on the coast and a weeping ghost
denounce a near perfect alibi.
The old lighthouse no longer searches,
though the sea forever pounds,
a weeping ghost and waves on the coast
reveal why his wife was never found.
