You were a labyrinth into which I ventured with desire

You were a labyrinth into which I ventured with desire,
the threads of your words weaving me tightly,
a mortal caught in an endless tragedy, a myth.
Each kiss was an elegy of falling stars,
each touch, a funeral song of the deep night.
You wore your sadness like a crown of shadows,
and I—your destined fool—bowed under its cursed brilliance.

She Ventured Out Into the Stars

She ventured out into the stars
   Though a stranger to their realm
Bright lights flashing roundabout her
   Would perhaps they overwhelm

This sweet young maiden, fair but frail
   Who'd braved the nighttime skies
Who'd quit the Earth, for there she'd felt
   That all Hope for Life and Light had died

Many people will avow,
to being risk adverse.
In discussing this point,
they often become terse.

if we can’t stick our neck out,
without undue fear.
We’ll be like the tortoise,
and not get anywhere.

Sometimes a decision,
causes life to seem bleak.
But risk is always commensurate,
with the reward we seek.
