Premium Member Do Not Tell Me What To Do
Tiptoe gingerly she said.
I know, I yelled, irritated. Don’t tell me what to do!
These black holes don’t play! She warned me.
I just want to have a tiny peek inside, I retorted.
The last time I was heard or seen....

Retort
His wife called him a good for nothing rat
As in his armchair old Jim sat,
Jim retorted with a very broad grin,
You know you will never get a double chin,
Because all that exercise is bound to kill fat....

Premium Member Permanent Residence
The wise I asked:

" Where should I build my permanent residence?"

" Permanent?" He inquired

"Yes!" I retorted

" Only in heaven. " He, compassionately, replied.

Easy
I remembered being on a bus with my dad today
Passing an old decrepit man out jogging and I began to giggle
To which my father retorted laugh away
At least he is competing whereas you are merely commentating
Glued to the bench last out the trench...

Mae West and Me
My husband fell in love with the beautiful Mae West.
I knew it was because of her oversized breast.
"Mae is beautiful," I retorted, "but small chested girls also like to hug."
"You and Mae," he laughed, "is like comparing a Cadillac to a Volkswagen bug."...

They both praised the picture but failed to agree.
The first was adamant: ‘That’s sunrise for me.’
The second retorted: ‘That’s sunset I see.’
The third gave advice and said it was best
To check the place taken – if East or if West!

The Cardinal and the Rose
The cardinal saw the rose
puff in rosy self praise and pride
It chimed beating its own drums
exultant about its beauty
The cardinal retorted
Hey, don't blush in vain
just hush and shush with that vanity
for I'm just as ruddy red.
Besides I can fly
with my head held high
The rose never nodded
The cardinal waited for no reply....

Premium Member Through a Child's Eyes
Golden yellow buttercups growing in the ground. Dainty little female child, eyes with wonder round. “Beautiful,’’ the child beamed. Face alight with joy. “Weeds,’’ retorted Nanny Grey. Foot poised to destroy. Trembling tears that filled her eyes caught the golden glow. Mirrored in the child's heart, truth we need to know. Some see beauty in this world, others may not heed. Common Lesser Celandine, never was a weed.

Rejection
Strangers are taunting me
Dark memories are haunting me
Neighbours are faulting me
I can hear them chanting
As I aloof am standing
My heart drained of its strength
It is fainting
I wondered... is my world falling?

In unison they say everyday
Go away! Go away!
Vainly I pleaded
Ooh! Please may I have a say
Nay! Retorted they to my dismay
Stranger! This is your doomsday
What else is there to say?
I reasoned, let me turn to God and pray
For He alone has the final say....

Good grief, one soldier told another
Our foe’s no different than our brothers

Oh, yes he is, the other retorted
The cause he fights for is distorted

I beg to differ, countered soldier the first
Our side’s lack of morals is the worst

Them's fightin' words, the other soldier replied
Said the first, I'll take you down, I’ve got my pride...

When it was over, they both lay dead
Their foe, their brother, victorious instead
