almost nothing prettier
it looks welcoming

The Fish
The Fish

The fish
Of coral reef
Swam in accord in tropical deep
Cultivating harmony
Yellows, purples and blues

Vivid, vibrant and hued
Striped black and white
Neon in the dark of night

Navigating its terrain
A freedom of uncertainty
A big fish paradise

I can only imagine
How it looks from outer-space,
Our world's biggest coral reef;
A huge sapphire sparkling;

I can only imagine
How it feels to go swimming,
Alongside all those life forms;
Who call the Great Reef their home

Someday I hope to visit
this big beautiful wonder;
then something real is mine ,
There's no need to imagine....

Premium Member If I had a Pet Shark
If I had a pet shark
I would name him Pete
He and I would swim together in a coral reef
I would point out game, and he would laugh

I would teach Pete how to speak American
I would teach him how to read
so that he could read my little hit list
I would point out who he should eat

I would skip cursive though
No one uses that any more...

Who can control the gold guppies the fishwisher did ask.
Merwoman Mamie said she might be up to the task.
She had raised some children – mermaids and mermens.
Pretty soon she had the gold guppies doing tricks in their tins.
She does it so easily, observed a coral reef god named Nom.
Maybe because she already has experience as a fantastic mom....

A Place They Call Home
Small fish die
But don’t you cry
They leave behind their bones
To make a brand new home
Called a Coral Reef

Beautiful bright colors to behold
Such as pink, yellow, orange and gold
A place where many fish live except for the whales
Such as anemones, sponges and snails
Where they hide from the shark with great relief
A place they call home, Coral Reef...

When None Command
When None Command

By surging sea and force of wind
A tattered vessel floundered in
Where coral reef performed the rest
In ripping wide her wooden breast.
From timber scream to cracking mast
Her form dismembered to the last
And on the waves her pieces reached
An aftermath of slumber, beached.
She is a silent reprimand
To those who sail
When none command....

Coral Reef
Blot this glassy water
With clotted blood;
Dive down, screaming;
Wish upon a starfish;
Stretch my gills and make them lungs;
Make me man, not manta;
Wipe the seaweed from my lips;
Save me, tangled, from your coral.

I have never seen the coral reefs,
Yet I am certain
It is a barrier,
Cuts the flesh of drowning sailors,
And is as deadly pretty
As a woman’s hair....

Premium Member The Coral Reefs Are Dying
Take a stand and save the world
Recycle that plastic bottle
Help clean up the ocean
And join in the battle
Reduce your use of single use
Commit to end the waste
Reduce the ocean garbage patch
Deliberately make haste
The coral reefs are dying
All around the world
In twenty years they might be gone
If we remain unconcerned
So take a stand and pick it up
Buy yourself a reusable cup...

Serene Scene
Sweet escape into the mountians

Forever high the top of the earth

Vilently snowing atop vally's below

Sweet escape into the ocean

Raging waters

The coral reef

Never ending

Beneath the sea

Sweet escape into the forest

Bark on trees marry magically

Filled with smells of pine and oak

Deep between the crackled ground

Sweet escape into the jungle

This is my backyard play ground...

Incinerated
I don’t find words.
Words will find me crying,
when a drone hits the coral reef.

Between guilty and
innocent, the sleep will
level the night and
let go the dreams in sea.

The school of fish dies
in my story. The ship sails
for a new port. I cleave
a pattern of withdrawl.

Roses will come again, to
sign a pact with the unshaven
god, sitting on the pavement,
waiting to be beheaded.

Bottle Up the Pain
Azure treasures,heavy laden
guarded by a sweet mermaiden
underneath a coral reef

come and sacrifice your grief

It is worth a gold doubloon
to give up mourning after noon
it feels so good to stoke the pain
embers there inside your brain

are you willing to deny it?
If you are the sea will buy it.
seal it in a Mason jar
now throw  it high
and just as far
as mortal man can fling his woes

to places only Neptune knows....

Ghost Ship
Frames of time fabrics of the cosmos a severed hand binded
A pleasure denied to the devil minded men
Amen a wise one said even as he said
His prayers inside a vipers nest
And the horrors we have suffered here is alike to a ghost ship
Applying its trade inside a coral reef
Bones of pirates belong where they lay
Where they fell
The king they conspired against
They threw everything beside the kitchen sink at me
And now we sing of death...

Premium Member How Do You Play Pattycake With a Seahorse
How do you play patty cake with a seahorse this tall?
I had seen it before but could not explain the process at all.
Let’s hide behind this coral reef, and maybe it will happen I said.
The first few things that floated by were gross, sticky, and clearly dead.

Are you sure there is a seahorse here?
Yes, and a mermaid too, I saw them both quite clear.
We waited until our tanks were almost out of air.
Finally patty cake game happened between mermaid and sea mare....

Megatherium
Thor caught megatherium that was his blunder
                           Sold it to his wife Sif along with his thunder
                                  Thor's wife Sif was a political piff
                                 Lost the poll and sat on a coral reef
                             And brewed megatherium in a colander

Premium Member The Reef
Turtle cruises the reef, turquoise warm in the sun; tendrils of coral stretch to sup filtered light. Butterflyfish and Tang intermingle amid coral polyps, that are plentiful appetizers for this party. As sponges get their rays, a seahorse uncoils and jettisons itself just overhead of a yawning mussel. I giggle to myself as an angelfish kisses my goggles and swim beneath the belly of turtle; awed at the Crayola chroma essence that delights my spirit.

Premium Member I Will name the moon Dolly
I woke up inside a capsized boat.
What if I get cut on a coral reef?
What if I get stranded for four years like Tom Hanks?
What will I do for food, water, shelter, warmth?

Could I live without any company?
I stared at the moon.
At least I have her, I will name her Dolly.
We will have conversations.

I could write them down and become famous.
I hope I get stranded for at least two weeks I thought.
I could use the break from work.
“Ahoy!” someone called from a new boat. “Need help?”...
