Maybe you’ve seen Janet
she’s from another planet
making all her regular stops
at the local charity shops
loves a second hand rail or two
lives in the land of good as new
to knock and shock them in the aisles
with frocks and socks of different styles 
for Bolton she’s a smidgen bold
but not one to be pigeonholed

We had a love so pure, this I was sure;

Not Something I’d Recommend.
I Was Present So Many Times,
When a Soldier Met His End.

I Don’t Do Nursing Anymore,
And I Haven’t since Vietnam.
I Saw and Felt Too Much....
I Am Just Not Very Strong.

I Know There Were Quite a Few,
That Were Helped Because I Was There.

Who went everywhere on the planet
She danced in France
And then, by chance
Ended up on top of the granite

white milky skin
smooth to the touch
thats how i met her 
doomed from the start
it's my only hope
it's my only chance
for romance

She's a Tough Girl and looks it, yeah
Hands quick to clench into fists, tongue like a blade.
Chainsmokes and drinks when she cuts school,
Which is often.

Half her friends pregnant, or worse
Before they can drive;
She doesn't expect to turn out any different.
God alone knows what goes on at home,
And He's keeping that to Himself.
