Ubiquitous Mallards
Bottoms up
in the brook a-babbling
topside down
ducks a-dabbling
wings in webbed feet
a-scrabbling
omnivorously grazing
on the dunk
beneath the water
for insects sunk
yet in the U.S.A.
above below but not abaft
they rank 7th most-hazardous bird
to commercial and military aircraft
and as a high-flyer at least one duck
was struck and it's hard to beat
at a cruising altitude
of 21,000 feet

Dabbling in Karma
I tend to swig life
and dabble in marginal pursuits
but not at another's expense...
because karma is a and will trap your spirit
against the concrete wind.
Agonizing over details is wasted time and energy
a soul killer...
I think the laws of knowledge and being
may be found within the speed of light
the substance of sound and anti-matter
all

Dabbling In Dreams
The cotton candy clouds melted in my mouth
as I flew over the menacing tiger who was crouched
with his mouth open catching all my loose teeth
I flew away quickly not wanting to be within his reach,
Then before I knew it I was traveling on a speeding train
in a cabin looking out the window at the torrential

Dilly-Dally Dabbling
He dabbles in this, dips his toes in that
Dithering with daubs, splattering dollops and spatters
Dilly-dallying, loitering lazily lackadaisical
Unable or unwilling to commit.
Half-hearted efforts lie half-baked, unfinished
Laying listless, languidly lolling and littering.
It's so annoying to see time wasted and fortuity fraught
But what can anyone watching do?

Dabbling In Life's Treasures
My poetry is created in my dreams,
Dreaming of loves that should have been.
Dabbling in life's pleasures,
Expounding on nature's treasures.
Reliving the past by rearranging the ending,
Developing snapshots of happier results.
Stretching the truth to fit the mood,
While utterly reliving my youth.
Tranquil settings help to escape from chaos,
Calm the upsetting moments that linger.
Replace them with emotions that smother,
The

Blow the Winds Slowly- Dabbling In Poetry Form Contest
Wind
Gentle
Touching me
Whispering low
Caressing my soul
Pulling at my heart strings
Blowing kisses on my skin
Arousing hot feelings of lust
Wanton now, my body awaits you
Blow the winds slowly, blow my mind away.
Penned 23 March 2014

Dabbling In Poetry Forms
It was a day like any other, nothing special planned that day
Neighbour's children were playing I could hear laughter over the wall.
An ear piercing scream was uttered, instantly chilled me to the bone.
Gathering my senses I sped outside, shouting "What has happened?"
As the scream ceased to roar, then with a mighty leap I looked over
In

Dabbling With Clerihews
COLUMBUS
Signore Christopher Columbus came up with a wacky notion.
He claimed he could reach India by crossing the Atlantic Ocean!
"Just think of all them spices and gold! We ain't got nothin' to lose!"
Queen Isabella thought him nuts but reluctantly funded the cruise.
LT COLONEL CUSTER
Arrogant Custer thought he was the greatest thing since the invention of dynamite!
He
