Wake Up, Winter's Over! (I think...)

<P style="FONT-SIZE: 22pt; MARGIN: 0in; FONT-FAMILY: Calibri"><FONT face="Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif" color=#008000 size=3><STRONG>It is almost feeling like Spring (in the sun) but a cool breeze in the shade keeps my feet covered in winter boots.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes"> '</SPAN>Tis the time for all ye winter-shut-ins to peek outside your blankets and show your colorless faces to the early blooms!<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </SPAN>My wonderful, dependable, good-looking, hard-working lawn guy showed up on Good Friday without a warning phone call and woke me up with the long unheard but familiar roar of his ride mower under my bedroom window.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </SPAN>I crawled up the headboard to lift one slat of the mini-blinds just in time to witness the destruction of my hyacinths and daffodils as he circled the baby magnolia they surrounded.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </SPAN>I slumped back into my slumber and rolled my eyes as if he could see my disappointment.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </SPAN>I thought to myself, "…no, they </STRONG></FONT><FONT size=3><FONT face="Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif"><STRONG><FONT color=#008000>won't grow back…," knowing very well that they were near death anyway because of the cold, cold nights we've been having.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </SPAN>Switching modes to my earlier feelings of joy at the summer sound of the lawn mower, all was good and I was grateful to be alive.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes"> Wishing you all a Happy Spring as I am eagerly looking forward to reading everyone's winter entries on a beautiful spring afternoon.
