Premium Member Galaxy or Smudge?

How can we determine things of note,
when they're up close, when they're remote?
Relative scales might equate
something small with something great.
Discerning eyes can't always judge
a galaxy from a smudge.

Smudge

My pet dog, Smudge
I wish he'd smell of fudge
instead he stinks of poo
Smudge, I say this cos it's true

You and your big tiger feet
your love for me is sweet
but now it's time for your bath
Smudge thinks I'm having a laugh

He's now sprawled out on the floor
and won't come in the bathroom door
Oh Smudge what am I to do?
cos you really stink of poo

One idea I suppose
is to douse you with the hose
and get you all nice and clean
he probably thinks I'm being mean

Now my pet dog Smudge
he actually smells of fudge
Smudge no longer stinks of poo
cos I used fudge smelling shampoo

Premium Member My Cousin Smudge

She was short-spoken, curt, and abrupt.
Her tight ears were closed, her mouth was cupped.
Not unlike her dad, ole mean McDuff.

She told it like it was, spoke her mind.
More honest girl you would never find.
I’d want her to back me in a bind.

She speaks the brutal truth, you see.
Even if it angers Ted and me.
A solid case of integrity.

She will probably be a lawyer or judge.
Speaking the truth, she will never fudge.
Curt and abrupt, my cousin Smudge.

A Smudge In a Relationship Can Occur

The smudge of the relationship can occur,
   It can be so insecure,

Like through the door,
You hear but can't see,
You want to see inside but you're out.

  ?Communication so vague,
? depth of one so translucent , other so obscure,
?there is so much to figure, ensure...
  ?

? YOU are free , but a drizzle goes down your spine,
?It all goes so well, it's your own will to stay.
  ?
Point here,
  ?If relation goes so well,
  ?you're so happy and then..

What if...
  ?Butterflies vary,
  ?Complements become sturdy,
  ?You feel you're bugging,
  ? You feel you're undefying.... ?
Too much sweetness, not enough...
? So much we think through,
  ?
?Existence of the thoughts are our choice,
? so is the relationships voice,
  ?
Things go hardy....

------

But you are hugging

Over thinking, relation so pure,
?not to all expectations, but secure,
 ? Misunderstandings can be conquered,
 ? With love and care.
 ?
 ?

Smudge

Humidity peaked
New high score
Perspiration on the windows
left behind window scribble sigils
I heart U
it read
said
to no one in particular

Looking at it now
tough to say who left it there
Another fleeting testament on pane of glass
waxing while waning faster than the blast
Real memories never last
Where ever you are dear window writer, I love you too

Tough titties telling those sleepless few
to call a truce
Make good with the great arms of subconscious peace
Admit defeat

The fine line you drew
Another bottle of wine mostly imbued
wile sprinklers play early morning tunes
Shitfire we are a mustard gas dumpster fire

Isn't life grander without a plan?
Would you like another can?

A Smudge of Heaven

A father looks down on his newborn child
a mirror of his image, concealing
a secret smile hiding among the stars
both seemingly absorbed
in metaphysical musings
taking time to enjoy
life's precious small pleasures.

How the heart can careen in his chest
to gaze into her eyes casting beauty like a spell
or a glow of starlight behind thin cloud
here is something spiritual that pierces the veil
into a world beyond this one- a smudge of heaven
for even a tiny fleeting second.

Smudge

A smudge on the mirror
Thats all I can see
I cant see the eyes staring back at me
My vision is blurred
My sight unclear
Why cant I see when I am so near
To the person on the other side
Still I cant see the tears she's cried
Before me the image is a lie
For it can only show the outside
Not the truth that's held inside
Behind the eyes that I cannot see
For the smudge is keeping it hidden from me
