Opal Dreams and Gold Gleams

"The stars beckoned her song to reach the crescent moon." 
A sonata spun in silver, diaphanous and light. 
Carried by a midnight zephyr, an ambrosian tune,
Wriggling across the hushed empyreal night.

The moon, a velvety candle leaning up close,
Its smile was

Whisper of the Opal

born from rain and fire’s embrace
a captured storm, a veil of lace
shifting hues in liquid light
dancing secrets, dark and bright

whispers stir in hidden gleam
opal dreams in pearly streams
shadows ripple, colors wake
a silent spell the stones forsake

moonlight spills through spectral veins
soft as echoes, lost remains
a gem of stories, old and deep
where shattered rainbows softly sleep

Onyx Clouds and Opal Dreams

Beneath February breath, 
a fugue of magic hues—
embers of crimson, 
coppered caramel trill
as maples sway
in Mistral melodic mirth.

Amidst the rhapsody, 
in strokes of whispered shimmer
a rainbow flares.

Oceanic at times
Opaque reflective flair
Ocher pigments inside
Openhandedly gave
Opulent fashioned ring
Offering it with heart     

Pink Opal a Mermaid

She was a beautiful iridescent mermaid named Pink Opal
We did not know her, but we knew of her, she was a legend
Her gorgeous opalescent wings acted as prisms within her aura
She brought the full spectrum of ocean’s light into a soothing state
Cleared emotional discord, paving the way for empathetic feelings
Her aura was enhanced by flashes

my favorite opal topaz ring

I wear a favorite ring now all the time.
On my wedding ring finger, but it is not a wedding ring.
It features a gorgeous blue pear-shaped topaz stone.
Highlighted by a band of eight rectangular shaped opals.
The opals are opalescent, shining pink and blue in the light.
Today I looked up the properties of both gems I wear.

Did not care about traditional wedding stuff.
She said she did not care about a ring.
He felt strongly that she should have one.

He got down on a knee and proposed.
Not in front of witnesses or family.
But in her favorite place, and she said yes.

A Tribute To Opal Lee and Juneteenth

Woke up this morning with freedom
on my mind.
I’m perpendicular to the blessed ground,
well and alive—
It’s Juneteenth and it’s break-out celebration
time— 
It’s going to be a beautiful day God has allowed

Shells she's clenched fluoresce
Money funnelled subterranean 
Spectrum rips open firey chests

Drawn into black pools of midnight
In deep space 
Enchantments dive into
Warm CRIMSON flames -
Nascent from sandcastles SAFFRON sandstone –
That burn in AQUAMARINE of LILAC
LAVENDER fire
Blazing in a symphonic
CORAL symphony,
Like butterflies with WATERMELON and TANGERINE wings
Among the neon LEMON blossoms,
To emerge from the stone cutters crystal vision
With a kaleidoscope of astral gemstone combustion
Flecked with CHARTREUSE

My Blue Topaz Ring With Opal Band

I traded in my diamond ring for a pretty ring with a brilliant blue topaz.
She is surrounded by a band of gorgeous iridescent opals.
My husband did not question it, knowing my love for jewelry changes
This was six years ago; this exquisite ring continues to be a favorite.
