Sweeping like a flood
Its high tide; men net a fish
While running ashore.

Underneath the night sky
No more Mr. Nice guy
My my, how time flies
F*** all these white lies
To you it seems out of this world and Sci-Fi
To me it's natural like a hippie wearing tie-dye
Another high tide
Rarely on the sidelines
Hardly feeling likewise
Much to accomplish in a lifetime

Took some tumbles
Held on didn't fumble
No longer puzzled
Disgruntled
I often mumble
Liquor I

Toward High Tide

My heart beats toward you
Like the swell of the ocean
Toward high tide,
Caught by an unrelenting force
It cannot understand,
Cannot escape.

High Tide Dragging

in taciturn sea
  in slow motion growing voice
    a Tide is rising

waves plead terrain gods
to guard treasures deep within
surreptitious shrines

Little foam bubbles 
splashing all over the shore,
bustling high tide.

Boats At High Tide

Raging, inviting. Inscrutable ice
King Neptune's daughter, her moods are water
You won't dive into the same ocean twice
She'll make you think it's your net that has caught her

Catch and release is her patent device
Wives tales have brought her whales to the slaughter
You'll receive notice of your sacrifice
on paper she folds into boats at high tide

Seagulls fill their bills with fish
Sunshine warms the sand

Clutter?
Shudder!

Cut her?
What 'fer?'

Flood her, 
Brother!

High Tide

Tide's turned… The deluge

   of water comes crashing in

      ~ My heart's stopped out there

High Tide

High tide
sadness billows
swells over me in waves
massive, silent, overwhelming
melancholy ocean engulfing me
flailing, drowning in emotion
or maybe I'm being
too dramatic
only-

It feels
that dramatic-
my universe slightly
out of orbit or alignment
something strangely out-of-kilter causing
all things to be thrown off their course
too much wind and pressure
in atmosphere
storms surge

Drifting
on swift currents
rudderless, out to sea
swept toward an isolated
island, far removed from humanity

Bottles At High Tide

Raging, inviting. Inscrutable ice.

She'll wait to decide which bait to provide

The wind in her sail grows to gale at shoreline
She weighs on a scale that you fail to define
while you're walking the plank....

a restless fowl
