Dross
All that glistens is not gold,
Of that, you can be sure
The wedding ring I'm wearing
Does it have a gold mark?
I don't know anymore.
Fake is the in word
We now ask, what is real?
Real looks wrong
Fake looks right
It has a look and feel
Of real
Sadly it isn't
Natural is hard to find
It isn't natural
Fake is not kind,
It is all

Heat
HEAT
Burn the dross out of gold,
Refine and purify,
Until nothing common remains
To scorch the soul
Into a flame of anger
Or selfish desire.
Leave behind the foolish thought,
Then the gold of pure joy
And pure peace
Bring the sweet glow
Of pure love
To enrich the soul.

Salvation
Take me to the cross
I don’t feel a care
If I feel I’m lost
I’ll no longer dare
On a hill of moss
And a virgin flare
Take me to the cross
If you feel it’s fair
And the the gory boss
On whose arm I tear
Oh be no more loss
And no daily care
Take me from the cross
All that I

Dross
...for Sylvia Plath
Her grasp of things is gone,
she fiddles, and is lost
with no prospect of redress.
She hovers shapeless,
rudderless,
in a storm-toss'd mess.
Substanceless, tottering
in limbo's loveless hold,
merely dross.

Dross
As the sun filters through branches
Brown crackled blooms exposed
No longer hidden by bright blossoms
Which spring had just transposed
The sunlight's angle is now changed
Revealing hidden parts
Only the dross is bad_ grotesque
Secrets deep in one's heart

We Have Crossed the Galaxy To Find Dross
~Alien Abduction~
Lying on the sun warmed grass
Breaths mingling, hearts as one
Condensation clouds painting pictures that make us laugh
The change is sudden and not such fun
A swirling opens in the sky
A force beyond comprehension
Lifted from the grass, from my lips escapes a cry
Nothing we can do- there is no prevention.
Elbows bang, knees are skinned
Fear takes

Amongst the Dross
Starring into the dross of amber brew
no face see I reflected, simply hollow I.
The stein of crystal tells no fortune spare,
nor one of bounty, yet what is true?
With drink, I dredge the pain of life anew
and wallow in the grain of cheaper wares,
degrade myself and blame fate, for my strife,
ignoring all God's gift, so

Diamonds and Dross
Was it about you
or were they talking
of me
not looking flash
on a diamond encrusted bike
let us both
fulmigate
against the tide
of perception
and then maybe
we'll earn the last word.
