O moon,
   the blood-rose pearl
            of my aching soul,
the ghostly seer of hourglass woes ~
heed these wistful words ~
forgive the dreadful quivers
between cacophonous quiescence,
tremors within lungs of lament,
     spears of piercing p a i n ...

The sky is a Luciferian estuary
rolling and roaring in crimson flames,
a twisted design of detonated debris,
like splitting sighs
from internal implosions,
raining fragments of the past:
matchbox memories
piercing through suffocating silence
as time tortures the mind
with flashbacks of floating fragility…

O invisible moonlight,
pour me a purple potion
to erase the pain behind
perplexed pupils.
I no longer desire to be
cast in

Premium MemberThe Persistence of Memory Painting by Salvador Dali - Collaboration with Dilly Dally

Caustic memories dissolve on my tongue
Lingering tastes of battery acid and nicotine
Cause me to choke on putrid saliva.
Staring at melting walls, clocks tick in unison.

Distorted birdsong hums outside of jagged windows
Under the warped sun, an unrepentant landscape blurs.
Freshly budding peonies liquefy;
Veils thin, evaporating the

Premium MemberThe Halusinating Toreador by Salvador Dali - 1970 Contest 1302

Standing in front of this enormous masterpiece,
Seeing his life story as the layers release.

I wasn’t warned to expect a wonder so rare.
I guess I expected a melting clock here or there.

Venus di Milo inspired his hallucinating toreador.
Dali features her likeness fourteen times or more.

Three of the statuesque figures are full life size.
The painting is over

Premium MemberNon-violence, their common thread

In this world so full of drama
I ventured to see the Dalai Lama,
so many problems filled me with dread.
He said breathe deep and let it go,
from your head down to your toe, and
offered me a piece of manna bread..
The wise man shared the bond
between Dr. King and Thich Nhat Hahn,
although these spiritual teachers are

n the land of the dead clocks they slither and slink
Not caring about the time, without battery or blink
Like snakes moseying around, they barely move at all
Some linger and languish, others lie against a back wall

How did we get here? The clocks ask each other.
No one has a guess, some are too ugly to smother.

Swans Reflecting Elephants - Salvador Dali, Collaboration With Di11y Da11y

Collaboration With Di11y Da11y

I see you there beneath the sheen
From high atop my neck I lean
Reflect upon the waters glare
Beneath the sheen, I see you there

Keep me stable, inverted trees
In stillness to just be at ease
I exist without judgement or label
Inverted trees keep me stable

In pensive thought, shadows cast
I turn my back to futures past
Uncertainty

Premium MemberOn Looking At a Dali

An exquisite drawing in pen and ink,
Though I’m not a fan of the likes of Dali
Allow me the luxury of having to think.

Some I look at and exclaim, “Golly!”
If I am not a fan, I respect their ability,
Though I’m not a fan of the likes of Dali.

Pen and inks require lots of dexterity,
I enjoy paintings

… is a drunkard
Swilling vintage regret,
Tears falling for undared dreams,
Anger spewing over unrequited love.

… is endless replays of yesterdays
With circular insightful wisdom
As likely to reverse life’s ills
As scrubbing dirt off hills.

… is stolen joy in the gloom
Of memory’s moldy greenhouse
Where fancied success blooms, hiding
Mocking hyenas and nightmare roaches.

… is a pustulated soul
Hunkering
