Books are Bon Fires

stacks and stacks of books
filling up Aunt Edith’s home library
the nephews and nieces laugh at them
They are old-fashioned, antiquated, useless

Some of these missives were read over and over
Cherished like an old friend with each reading
Others never made it past page two
Boring and dull, deemed useless, put back on the shelf

Upon Aunt Edith’s death these books

     toss bon-bons

                                 mice won ~

bon apetit

“taste” …

she whispered
making sure the “s” lingered on her
tongue like syrup …
I needed no instruction,
but her plea was proper music, nonetheless
prelude to pleasurable murmurings from
both our gullets,
though I put the vibrations of my low,
rumbling moan to good use
(as any obsequious scoundrel should)
her squeaky sigh wrapping
my core like a vine,
saturating my extremities …

      I dreamed of my dry landscape...
      In those temples of sumptuous
    mystery, I dreamed of the

The Jon Bon Jovi Rest Area

On the Garden State Parkway
In New Jersey state,
There are places to stop
To put food on your plate

Or put gas in your tank
Or prevent further grief
With a stop to the restrooms
To get some relief.

Certain rest stops are named
After locals of fame,
Since their monikers give them
A touch of acclaim.

One such area called
“Jon Bon Jovi” salutes
The adored well-known

Bon Voyage

The story goes that men have only one thing on their mind
But down throughout the ages there are men far more refined 
Sometimes man is called upon to do the righteous thing
And carry out the wishes of his one almighty King

Of the JOURNAL I hold in hand, 
pages flutter with the breeze... 
for I'm lost in its words, I'm lost to the distant seas.
O voyager who scribed the tale, 
whom did you meet and what did you see? 
What whimsical for a land must it be... 
for me to get lost in its scenery?

Stand under the bon-bon colored umbrella and watch the lizard rise from the ashes

A girl who's incredibly shy,
But if she opens up, she's like a bon-bon,
So colorful and exciting,
Her friends help her fly,

Another young lass,
Who will let you stand under her umbrella,
When your feeling down or lost,
But watch out for her sass,

Again another lady, yes,
Who needs encouraging and support,
Her friends stand behind her and say;
You will never be

held an important meeting at the restaurant.
Happy faced Lauren,
her BF Laurence, and her
BFF Laurance Olivier queried:
“What is it, what is the thing
we all want?”

Bugs to flour
plants to wheat
you eat your bugs
I will eat wheat flour
you watch the crickets
I will watch wind blow sheaves
You spend millions on a bug factory
but cannot spend it on health care satisfactory
You can have your crickets while I enjoy my big steak treat
Bon appetite hope you don't heave with vomit at  your feet.

Another bon voyage on next leg of journey...

into the unknown courting lovely lass
crafted four years ago to date 
flying colors while eldest progeny 
an undergraduate 
at storied university did pass.

Even at a young age, she
first born of deux darling offspring
established herself as a high achiever
gifted as “star student,” motivated
maintained abiding diligence 
linkedin with carpe diem
