Cosmic

My heart and space were peppered with stars
While you and I collided like planets.
The impact shook both worlds
And ignited both hearts and fires that burned burned burned.
But she and the sun burned brighter,
And you left me alone just to simmer.
My chest and a black hole both were empty, both held the dark,
But the brightness of you and the meteors chased it away.
You and the constellations wrote my name like it was calligraphy.
And I watched with the man on the moon as you silently made the sky clear again.
But you and the stars will disappear and the hours will feel like years
until I can call you mine again tomorrow night.

All Students Can Learn

All students can learn and we will find a away to teach them

Miscellaneous classes.
Deadly grades and empty words
Stares that will bounce off the skin thick as your textbook
The words will sting when they sit in your veins
The words from the teachers make you crumble but making a mess in the hallway will put you in detention
The drive to school will make you want to disappear
No worries, you're invisible anyway
Crowds in the hallway almost always leaves bruises on the curled in shoulders
Nothing is as heavy as your bookbag, well, except your eyelids.
You'll understand barely enough, learn a little if you're lucky, and memorize till death
All students can learn and we will find a way to teach them

Opposites Attract

She was born with fire
Hot enough to burn bones to ash.
She was roaring
Screaming for home.
Then someone
Something
Put her out.

He was ice
Wind
Flying and chilling
Cold enough to fracture
Shatter someone.
But gentle
For the flower girl and then
nothing.
No more garden
He covered it all in ice until
Every petal crumbled.

Eons later
The fire met the ice and both were fierce,
Both were empty.
Threatening to fall
Into the darkness.
Saving each other,
Saving themselves.

The scorching flame
Licked the freezing winds
And magic scarred
Hearts and left.
Shadows sitting
Waiting for
Fire Heart
And the Hawk.

Get Into the Christmas Spirit

Soon it will be spicy blue,
Snowflakes and winter-mint.
The falling snow like the melted marshmallows in my hot chocolate
Cold yellow everyone says “Don’t eat!”
Sweet shattering of icicles against the wet pavement
And blue skies that bite your eyes.
Colored bells,
Greens and reds,
Silver and gold waves weighing on the pine needles.
Going to bed while the soft fog kisses your window
Makes the night comfy.
White hot birth of the new year ,
Thousands of blushing prayers,
Whispers for His son.
The holiday songs feel like a warm sweater
I’m wearing it while the aroma of Christmas spirit arrives late
And the sharp jingle bells prick your fingers.

Light Bringer, Rising

An angel born of grace,
Wings, a halo-a bright light
Stings. A fall- crash-
I’m born again.
Burned again.
Different skin
New air, new hair, new aura.
Same voice, exact words
“Trust me,” as I stab you in your spine.
My voice cracks, skips
Curved and edged
My sheathed tongue cuts me-
The roof of my mouth, my teeth
Sharpen the double edged sword that
I’m ready to release-too ready-
Too close to the edge help me
Im unsteady-good-being good-
It feels so good being
Bad choices rude ricochets across
My mouth and kills
People show up to crime scene lips-murder
Weapon kiss
Caution tape painted red-
Suspect in a cage-white steel teeth
Holding my sharpened mouth hostage
Only steel sharpens
Steal my words from me lock them up.
Clamp my jaw lock the cage
Pull away the reddened
Lips and smile the
Devilish smile

Gods

I am a god
Ichor drips from the wounds you left.
Like Zeus and Kronos, I will surpass you.
I will rule everything you were afraid to.
I won’t let the thought of you returning smite me.
I shall destroy everything you have done using your own weapon-
Hands with leaden callouses, touching things and making them worthless.
You are nothing like Minos.
You are nothing like my mother.
She, like Hephaestus, creates beautiful things.
She forged me into a god.
Now tell me- what creature are you?

When You Dance

When you dance it is like watching flames reach toward the stars.
Hearing you speak of the fire under your toe pads
Engulfs my soul, warming my heart.
Never have you ever been so ready to burn.

You dance like a leaf torn from a tree,
Over and over again.
Underneath a candy apple smile and angel kissed nose is an autumnal soul

Dancing is you and painting is me,
And I want to see where we will be.
Not only do I wish to see you grow but to see you
Continuously shine like the goddess
Everyone will be willing to praise.

Daydreaming

Dreams growing
Reality shrinking,
Fantasy
Shrinking reality,
Growing dreams

Chilled

Leaves giving gentle kisses to the ground,

Autumnal winds waking the sleeping trees,

A lover so gentle and kind, waiting.

But then everything is stripped to the bone.

White powder blankets, stripping all warmth

Look up, the naked trees shatter the skies.

Fall weakens us so winter can come through.

Heavy handed, red faced, freezing, shrinking.

Breathing out ghosts and burning them away.

Broken Royalty

You forgot you were king.
There were unforgiving days
I've taken ours in stride.
You collapsed on your way to the throne
You yelled on your way down
Down I put the emerald echos down under my ribs
I wore my armor-don't hurt my bones again
All you wanted was out.
Till I came in.
Princes aren’t hard to save when the damsel is being saved, too.
Average. Okay. Peasant.
No you're a king.
Take your throne and rule.
Side by side the queen smiles.
Strong. Fierce. Elegant. Royal.
