Faye Lowley Poem
A Father’s Love
Who would deny a father’s love
That burns within a fevered breast?
My heart seeks mercy from above;
It’s empty now you’ve left the nest.
I wish you well upon your way,
Sweet child of mine with face so fair.
I’ll think of you ‘most every day,
To you I dedicate this prayer.
It is no sin for man to weep,
Emotions surely need to flow.
Pure love’s not lost if it is deep,
And all the sweeter to bestow.
My love endures, a love divine
So pure, and filled with equity.
Go forth with strength, dear child of mine;
I’ll love you for eternity.

Faye Lowley Poem
A Sailing Ship
The rolling sea attracts my gaze,
As waves are whipped in peaks of white.
I see a ship from bygone days,
Her masts so tall come into sight.
She’s journeyed far across the sea,
Her men were heroes, duty bound.
Their lives were hard, but they were free,
With tales to tell beyond the sound.
How brave the men that chose to sail,
Their loved ones prayed for their return.
In constant storms and lashed by gale,
So far from home their hearts would yearn.
And on their leave they’d come ashore
For leisure time, a time of ease.
Their wish perhaps to sail no more
Upon those rough and stormy seas.
What wonders to behold, oh mighty sea!
What treasures will you dare unfold?
The secrets of the deep revealed to me,
I see a wreck, a chest of gold!
Upon the rocks a pirate ship
Was dashed to pieces, sank below.
Returning from a daring trip,
Defeated by a mighty foe.
But now, my dream is fading fast
In mists of time, in days of yore.
A sailing ship with pirates’ mast
That seeks redemption on the shore.

Faye Lowley Poem
The Beasts of the Field
Upon this day I took a stroll,
To seek some comfort in the wild.
I knew that Nature could console,
And restless mind be reconciled.
In blissful thoughts and reverie,
I whiled away a pleasant morn.
I spied a robin in a tree;
No longer was my mood forlorn.
I wandered down a country lane,
Uplifted and my faith restored.
In spite of gloom and pouring rain
My heart was light, my spirits soared.
When all at once I saw a farm,
A flock of sheep in nearby field.
I marvelled at the simple charm
That Nature graciously revealed.
I watched them as they grazed in peace,
In mossy fields of autumn green.
All snug and warm in coats of fleece,
So sweet of face with loving mien.
I took a picture, lost in thought;
Such memories are meant to last.
I found the peace that I had sought;
Serenity, the spell was cast.

Faye Lowley Poem
Dying Embers of Autumn-a Triquatrain
Now night is done, the welcome sun
Breaks through and greets the dawn.
A rose in bloom with faint perfume
Awakes this Autumn morn.
What awesome sight at morning light,
A tapestry of leaves.
Exquisite shades in woods and glades,
A wondrous web she weaves.
The winds may blow, until the snow
Of winter takes a hold.
There’s much to see, the wild and free,
Before the days grow cold.
A robin sings, such joy he brings,
The sweetest melody.
While Nature stirs, the world demurs,
For winter is our destiny.

Faye Lowley Poem
A Haven of Dreams
I long to go and see where time stands still,
Where breezes blow and branches sway.
I see it now beyond that distant hill,
It beckons me and shows the way.
As I am drawn beneath its potent spell,
‘T is sweet serenity I yearn.
In tender moments my emotions swell,
I count the days till you return.
Our haven nestles in a leafy glade,
A sanctuary it’s now become.
And there at peace we’d sit in gentle shade,
Hear songbirds trill while bees would hum.
How sweet this place that sets my heart aflame,
That you will come, my constant thought.
Without you here it does not feel the same.
Incurably, my heart is caught.
And if this dream of mine should ever die,
It’s there I’ll go to rest awhile.
The sunlight that adorns a cloudless sky,
A mere reflection of your smile.
