Adell Foster Poem
(Septet)
Amorous
thoughts soar through the blue,
to touch a heart that is true;
velvet kisses, softly set upon
the lips of mine affection's
as whippoorwills sing
Perfection...

Adell Foster Poem
Anxiously the bachelor dreams
Of a lifelong commitment
From the insidious bachelorlette,
He proposed marriage tenderly
Could I count on you ~
To forsake all others said she,
He vows to do so forever,
If she were to love, honor
And be the best bride ever.
They agree thus bonding
In holy matrimony
Husband and wife
Were then introduced --Mr. and Mrs.
After which family, guests
And wedding party joined
Too, celebrate the start of
their forever promise
Many blessings

Adell Foster Poem
There is no love, without our God;
Search your heart and home it’s not hard ~
I cannot stay if He’s not there,
A sense of loss would fill the air.
Fill this house with truer faith
Let, our hearts hope in Him always --
He‘ll heal spiritual beggars,
His glory abounds forever…
Search your heart and home it’s not hard ~
There is no love without our God.
Enter, for the kingdom is nigh,
Reach in and ask He’ll not deny.
There are blessings awaiting you,
Hope in Him, and He’ll see you through…
Open your heart, for it is home
Remember God is on the throne ~
When despair strikes – Give it to God,
Search your heart and home it’s not hard ~

Adell Foster Poem
From bebop, swing to hip-hops thing
True poets had it best
For there is a rhythm in the soul,
Which they all just had to express
Some could not control
This powerful thing
Was so often put to the test
It began to dawn coming on strong
Within the birth of a thing
Called the Harlem Renaissance
That jazz, that poetic-jazz, of intense birth
Possessing syncopated rhythms
And chronic expression of surreal tunes
That perfected blend of jazz-poetry
Developed into what it is today.
Thanks to poets like Carl Dunbar and Langston Hughes
That jazz, that jazz, that wonderful poetic-jazz
Being bred of pride, lyrical form and grace
Transcended cultural barriers
Readily accepted in the 1950’s by the humane race
Therefore, the mantra had begun to be
So freely expressed within poetic lyrics
To syncopated beats moving on through the 60’s and 70’s
By way of beat poets like Amiri Baraka
Returning strong throughout the 70’s and 80’s
Thanks to artist like Gil Scott-Heron
Oh, snap he was one of the founding fathers
Of spoken word poetry known to youngsters
Borne to free-styling or hitting the beats
On stage or in the streets
Yes, you’ve guessed it, most def its rap
Re-educating the poet in me, thanks to that thing
In which made many a heart sing
As these icons did their thing
Starting with something called modern day jazz-poetry…
Born during the Harlem renaissance and still going strong
Comments: I hope that you have enjoyed this free verse
tribute to some of the greatest modern day
founders of what is known as Jazz-Poetry.

Adell Foster Poem
(Haiku)- * Motive, infidelity messing with the Queen Bee's Honey*
Queen Bee sits on throne,
Bumble and drone bees as one
Sample flowers dew
------------------------
(Limerick) - *Admission of guilt leads to compensation*
Indeed this is how the story unfolds,
Pete said, "It's a poor rat with only one hole"...
Love had taught a sad lesson;
Divorce court was now in session,
Judge rules favor, Pete's pockets full of holes...
----------------------------
(Couplet) - *Take vows seriously payback often belongs to Spouse - Queen Bee*
Love said, "Pete too late you've opened your peepers"....
"Man, you should know it was cheaper to please her"!
Submitted for P.D.'s Divorce Club Contest (Haiku-Limerick-Couplet)

Stew that chicken keep broth hot
Add some chopped onions
Pepper, garlic, thyme and salt
Dumplings taste so fine
The dish is ready
Won’t you come --
Dine!

Adell Foster Poem
There is something in my pocket…
Is it perhaps a rocket?
Oh no, that simply would not fit;
Yet, there’s something in my pocket…
Could it be a lovely locket?
Good guess, I confess that’s not it…
Could you plug it in a socket?
Oh now that sure would be shocking.
Okay I give, do tell, won’t you?
Well…There’s a poem in my pocket,
And I’ve written it just for you.
