strap on your BCD
from your regulator take two sips
excited you should be

we’re gonna scuba
       in Aruba

big step into the fray

In diving the coast off Aruba,
He thought he would play his best tuba.
The fish thought it odd,
The stingray said “Todd,

The Specious Criminal Trial

Which fish
The scuba diver
Is going after?
The big one
Or the small one?
Which sheriff
Is on trial today?
The petty one
Or the pretty one?
Everyone must have its day
In the Kangaroo Court.
Real justice is not a myth;

Well That Hurt

On a cruise ship in the sea
breaking blue waves peacefully,
yet once we land and I descend
the coral moves and shifts and bends.
Out comes something small and sweet
but packing punch; I know I'm beat.
A jellyfish: minuscule and bright

In the ocean she swam that day, pure as snow.
She was gorgeous, and her white tail was aglow.
He was confident, thinking his scuba gear was sound.
Never realizing he was in trouble all the way around.

She had an inkling that someone was going to be in trouble
So she rounded up the sharks, and locked them up

we look down
signal frantically
‘come up’,
though it is already 
too late

he dances wide eyed
with ecstasy
as the nitrogen 
tickles his cells

anemones
cling to the steep
rock walls
fish feed and dawdle
incuriously

we peer through
our tiny windows
into the ink black sea

as he goes 
free wheeling 
down, 
down,
a rictus of laughter 
on his face

Scuba Diving

Our trip is planned. There's no going back.
Plane has taken off to the destination.

We arrive. Palm tree, beautiful flowers and 
amazing scenery. We drive to the reason we 
came.

All suited up and ready. The magnificent
ocean just ahead. We arrive and dive in.

Beautiful colors surround us. Many different
fish all around, colors of blue, yellow, red and

I Shouldn'T Have Gone Scuba Diving

I made a big mistake when I decided to scuba dive.
I'm caught on some rocks and I may not survive.
It was very foolish of me to risk my neck.
I was looking for a treasure from a shipwreck.
This may be the end, I have very little air.
I'm too young to die, this isn't fair.

Scuba King

I had all my equipment checked.
Everything was laid out on deck.
We were suited for game.
By the time drop off came 
my nerves were totally a wreck.

I went down to the deep blue sea
to see what the sea would show me.
Got the scare of my life,
a fish big as my wife,
and the show in the sea

a thick suit envelopes me
the sun beats down
dang, this is so hot. 
i feel sweat drip 
and wrap around my arms 
my first steps into the cool water 
aww.....love it....
