The Mentoring of Tumors
Lately, I've cut away hectares of tumors
that engulfed confidence, happiness
self-worth and wellbeing.
With surgery a bit of the good stuff was sacrificed:
A few shallow laughs, some adventure and mostly harmless mischief.
The mirror is filled with scars of the heart
excoriations of spirit
along with other yet to be discovered damage.
Though somewhat deformed, I like my new look.
I feel

I Cry For The Children
I cry for the boys who just need to be left to be themselves
To play and explore, take risks and learn the hard way
With peers, and fathers and grandfathers
Getting the role models they need and deserve
From actual males and not the nurturing females
Who are now head of almost half of all households
And more than three

'A Mentoring Angel'
Georgia O'Keeffe is one of my biggest artistic influences.
Fearless, determined, and fiercely independent.
Two famous quotes ...
"You get whatever accomplishment you are willing to declare"
"Instead of words — there it is"
I've visited her Ghost Ranch and home at Abiquiu many times. They're great places to write.
Wishing you all a great week.

The Mentor
I paused to stand and watch a man who had come to the road’s divide,
my wonder soared as I watched his stare slowly shift from side to side.
He stood as if not noticing that many passed him by,
they moved without a second glance down the road most traveled by.
Then as I watched he stepped full

Mentoring Truth
Like Fall…
the lingering of laughter in the air,
like a silent prayer,
painting the moments, so rare
with joy and hope to share,
stirring love, thus – beware…
graceful as the ghost of a sunrise,
on dawn, with clear, blue skies,
there is a beautiful I’ll advise –
reflecting the spirit, so very wise,
erasing the darkness with all its lies…
gentling the spirit, stirring

Mentoring Your Child
Whom to identify? Never you, dear.
Striving to please others means easing yours, I fear.
You vanish, unreachable in the crowd.
After greater life wisdom, it may be allowed.
But even then, the question remains: is it worth it?
To sacrifice who you are to fit in and submit?
No, my dear, you must value yourself above all.
Seeking validation will only

mama taught me
not to drag my feet

a thirsty soul might come looking
and find their way
to the watering hole

Mentoring Program Feeds
My job was to set up ten mentors for my children at my school. I set up sixteen.
The training was after school yesterday and thirteen showed up. One was excused, one
could not stay because she had a lung appointment, and one said they would take training another time.
Too bad they missed it, as they missed

Therapeutic Mentoring
Educational process,
like any ecosystemic change with progressive intent,
is not only about successfully transferring exegetical traditions
to the next hopefully all-consuming generation.
That may be the more surface half of trans-generational learning,
and a necessary portion,
but the deeper,
new cooperatively absorbing co-redemptive half,
is about learning regenerative transitional production balance
as defined by notnot degeneratively monoculturing imbalance.
Systemic transitions,
like growing up healthy,
are more
