The Bridge Makers

In chalk-dust classrooms, minds alight,
She sows the seeds of endless flight,
A teacher's touch, a gentle hand,
Empowering futures, taking a stand.

He walks the streets where shadows fall,
A voice for voiceless, standing tall,
For every right, for every child,
A champion's heart, burning wild.

Two paths they tread, yet interwoven,
Threads of love and purpose sewn,

Be careful, watch your words.
Remember what Christ said:

 judged also!"

We muck about like God himself.
We. Yes, I said "we" have already
decided.
Who is going to heaven and who
is going to hell.

Tell God, He has nothing to do on
Judgement Day!
For arrogant humanity's proclivity
to sanctity,
Knows today who is going to hell 
and

Coffee Makers

Long after the coffee pot
Calls the kettle black,
Eventually they will realize
They both serve the same purpose.
Just one begins slow and boils up fast,
While the other brews until it is filled
With the most bitter taste.
The coffee pot serving a roast
Darker than its host.
And the kettle instantly melting away 
All of the dryness of the ground beans.

Music Makers

Many musicians make music,
Musical melodies mimic magnificent messages.
Mostly material mentioning meaningful moments,
Masterpieces march merrily.
Millionaire music makers.

Rule Makers Rule Breakers

If you’re a Rule Maker it’s probably true
that you have broken more than a few; 

Rule Breakers want to get that win,
their endless hustle demands attention;  

Free thought with structure? Perfect balance;
Respecting each other leads to progress; 
Fusing ideologies could be the game changer.

The death of once-great swans I oft' lament;
     and ask in vain, “Where have all the bards gone?”

The New Myth Makers

My pleasure is in creating my own mythology.
I have read the saga's, the legends the great epics,
and they have made a garden for my spirit to walk in,
yet, they are the 'other' stories, ones told for so long now
they seem like the often played grooves
in an old vinyl record.

Dedicated to themselves, while your friendship, once a red, ripe
apple grows moldy on a shelf.

 Friends don't pity you, they are forever there.
Shining as the brightest star,simply because they honestly care.

Look deep into your empty soul as your selfishness may make 
a friendship rot.
Grow up, and cease being a selfish snot!

This people are busy
In changing coins
No time to change 
People making coins

Of Kings and King Makers

The decisive die is cast
No rule is hard and fast
The Rubicon crossed and more
The Senate and other arms in tow

The Queen bee not to be rocked
Drones in hives,locked
The Emperor not at all shocked
As food reserves, de-stocked

The last Act and scene unfold
The conspirators, the Emperor scold
Daggers drawn; they await their fill 
He gasps "and you, Brutus?"

Prayer For the Makers

Our pages' dearth decrees our need for death
     when, from time to time, we invoke the Muse
     and she doth not reply (but doth refuse!)
as our quills run dry while we fail for breath
of inspiration. We pray to gods beneath
