ETERNAL STATE

Brain cells fade like stars at dawn's first light.
Skin cells age, too, losing their youthful flexibility and might.

Hair cells, once proud, now surrender their strands, and
even their vibrant hues lose to time's unyielding hands.

So, why amidst this cycle do fat cells have a different fate?
No matter my age they seem to have an annoying

The cells of a woman long gone

Consent.
Break it and your punished
Usually,
That's how the story goes
That's the way it's supposed to go

The hippocratic oath.
Ethics. Principles. Confidentiality.
A promise. A vow. A pledge
Beyond race
Beyond gender 
Beyond sexuality
An oath against inequality 
That's how it is to be taken 
That how its supposed to be took 

But what if?
What if those blinded by power decide to

Blood rushes behind my eyes. Ocean waves
crash as I turn my head, tilting to get a better
view of you. But that’s impossible, isn’t it? No 
view is adequate. How should one look at David?
My lips are dry. I’m fainting, surely. Cells melt
and mix, transfixed as you walk by. Unknowing.

One day I tried to write a sonnet

For hours and hours I thought upon it

I swear I'm not joking

My head started smoking

And firemen turned their hoses on it

In the cells of silence, where dreams freeze in wax

Cells of Love : a Haemoglobin Harmony

Once upon a time, in a human's veins,
A love story unfolded, amidst life's strains.
RBC and WBC, two cells so distinct,
In the body's symphony, their love was succinct.

RBC, vibrant and red, carried life's breath,
WBC, valiant and white, guarding against death.
They met in the heart, where love often starts,
Drawn together by fate's intricate arts.

You come to me through breathing nuances of your soul
Pinpricks of laughter, tears, and excitement
Memories buried deep within
Trickles of blood
Moments of loss

My body warms
My heart expands
I am a conduit
To receive the gifts you bring

Dancing cells before my eyes
Seducing me with their movement

Magic and purpose
We function, often without thought
To the complexity

Where obvious individuals don't get treatment.
