I thought it put words to things I struggled to explain to another person, which is why I made it a poem. In that respect, I feel like ChatGPT helped me communicate something I struggled to, which is often the main issue for a poet: explaining an internal sense by translating (impossibly) into language. It is quite a basic and shallow analysis though, but I find it useful. I don't know why because I haven't thought about it enough, but there is something within the way in which it breaks down my poems into a mathematical analysis of language that makes me feel validated.

Also, I want to clarify, that I don't support using ChatGPT to write poems. Every poem I have written has been based off of somewhat intense thought or intense emotion. The thoughtful ones have taken me hours to choose each line, with meaning embedded into each connected word with purpose, whereas the emotional ones are layered flows of thought that just seem to pour from themselves. ChatGPT is not capable of either.

This poem explores various themes and emotions, using vivid imagery and introspective reflections. It begins with the depiction of creeping tendrils and cordyceps, which symbolize something invasive and restrictive, perhaps representing challenges or obstacles in life. The idea of muscles working alone despite pain suggests a sense of determination and perseverance.

The second stanza delves into a feeling of diminishing confidence and wasted effort, despite running or chasing records. It conveys a sense of frustration and the struggle to maintain motivation.

The third stanza introduces the concept of a contained mind influenced by external signals, particularly in the context of screens and technology. The poet expresses a sense of detachment and the realization that they know things they shouldn’t know.

The fourth stanza describes the humming of lampposts against windowpanes, which could symbolize an eerie or unsettling presence. The whispered hymns from scattered brains suggest self-doubt and criticism.
