Triplers

Blog Posted:10/30/2012 6:35:00 PM

An example of a tripler, a poem written in three syllables per line.

Fall

birds on wing

carry the

news headlines

bold print on

trees turned gold

flowers wilt

with loud clues

growing slows

breezes cool

children walk

briskly talk

returning

to school days

Both Doublers and Triplers have to entered here as Free Verse. Some of them rhyme, and some don't.

Further to my comments below Joann on your' doublers and triplers' about using a different open form visual presentation of your tripler I have taken the liberty to post it as a poem to show therein how I would present your tripler.Let me know here after you have read it and I will then delete from my listings.I had to do it this way as these comment boxes do not permit formatting.Rgds Brian

I did see your formatting and I do like it. Ihave done several in this more open way, one of which, In April, I had posted before.

Joann I would try a more open form style of presentation' a la WCW' see some variation thereof in my July postings..In the left field and Schools out etc.Asto syllabics your 3 syllables read technically as a dactyl (one long, accented, followed by two short)like the joints of a finger. So I would suggest the name dactylars.Rgds Brian

Interesting, Joann. I like them better than doublers. The problem i would have with them (if I were trying to write that way) is that they are so limiting. But if they are coming naturally to you, that's GREAT!!!
