Blue-Eyed Angel

Through the lies that shatter, the tears that gleam,
Your eyes show the stories, the shadows unclean,
You were mine to have, you were mine to dream,
You were my spotless lies, my everything.

Time wasn’t money, just as love wasn’t trust,
Time was short and love was lust.
Urges were many, to comply was a must,
Goodbye, blue eyed angel, grind this thin wall to dust.

Love was given and unreturned,
Shadows cleared, lies were slurred,
Truth was fought and visions blurred,
Not love, not lust, not the single heart cured.

Not but a memory, not but a name,
Held fast to a girl with her head bowed in shame,
So long gone but a voice can tame,
Goodbye blue-eyed angel, only I was to blame.

In Loving Memory, Lois Brock

Breathe steady now, your home at last,
No restrictions, your free to dance,
We’ll toast to you and all the years,
The struggle, the laugher, the fights and tears,
Hold back no more your restless soul,
Your young, you’re free, you’re good to go.
Memories are many, and all are a blast,
Like aisle nine, and repetitions like that,
Our family charms and silly mistakes,
Like walking into walls and showing up late,
Tripping over feet and choking on nothing,
Making a whole lot of nothing into a really big something,
The loves and the snuggles, the hugs and the kisses,
The gatherings and happy, the loss and the misses.
We’ll miss you a lot as our lives start back up,
We’ll remember our stories, and that’ll be enough,
Because your still here beside us, in heart and in more,
In pictures, in giggles, in stories galore,
Loves to the gramma, the mother, the friend,
As her smile touches all, her final the end.

Crimson Tears

Crimson tears glide smoothly down tender flesh,
The droplets of anger,
Your hate,
My despair,
From my wrist to the floor in sweet rhythm they fall,
Little memories of you,
My blindness,
You’re triumph,
The blood of innocence lost with you long ago,
Is reborn once again,
In my faith,
In your eyes,
The true loss of innocence now truly defined,
As I hit that floor,
In my blood,
In your memory,
Goodbyes now seem infantile to my fading state of mind,
So I rip them to pieces,
For my pleasure,
Because of you.

Man In a Bottle

Dead end story, dead end train,
No girl left to find, no heart left to claim,
Held back by the glasses and clinking of ice,
The whiskey, the bar, the story of my life.

Tears in the whiskey draw memories to view,
A girl in my arms, our hearts born anew,
The dress, the kiss, the vows and the love,
Tears fall once more as I look up above.

To the tattered old ceiling, a cobweb or two,
Look past to the sky, like your eyes, colored blue,
See your smile through rain, and your face through the sky,
Goodbye sweet angel, forever goodbye.

Fog my memory, take the reigns,
With liquid fire, flood my veins,
Pour it through and watch me burn,
A man in a bottle with a lot to learn.

Silver Angel

Smokey mirrors and polished floors,
hide not your reflection nor deepest desires,
for are your eyes the mirror and deception pristine
as the floor of this hallway, thoughts tiles washed clean
of the flood of denial, the tears of defeat,
Goodnight silver angel, sleep won't set you free.

How do you feel, knowing you crushed him so deep?
Like the crushing of rice under ones feet,
Tainted wedding bells ring as true as your darling impulse,
Your gown stained with the truth that you hid for so long,
In love and in lies, in love and in lies,
Goodnight silver angel, this won't be goodbye.

No shame in greed, no shame in desire,
The world for a kiss, the world for a night,
Just a night to know reality, a night to know truth,
It isn't fair to leave me hanging like this,
I have some questions to ask, some questions to be heard,
Goodnight silver angel, may your lessons be learned.

Lovely Liar

Goodbye never sounded so trashy before,
And kisses never felt quite so cold,
You don’t care what I feel or the lies that I told,
I bet you’d stand and watch me fall,
I have only one question,
Did you ever even love me at all?

You toy with emotions like a child at play,
Am I supposed to seek the emotions you’re trying to hide?
Newsflash my dearest, I found them long ago,
You’re feelings of pity and nothing more.

Never come back to this black and white picture,
This home for self-pity and regret,
I don’t know if I could refuse you again
My awful pretender,
My lovely liar,
I love you, I hate you, amen.

Beautiful

Beautiful people are beautiful.

But if she's beautiful and no one notices....
Does it really count?

I guess that doesn't matter...
Because I know she's beautiful.

God, is she beautiful...

I don't think she realizes how captivating her smile can be,
And how the shimmer of her eyes will forever outdo
Thre makeup she applies each day.

I don't think she realizes how holding her can melt hearts
And how hugs can completely change the minds
Of people who thought they'd lost everything.

I don't think she realizes just how touching she is to me,
And how my heart aches when she hurts,
And how I smile when she smiles.

I dont think she realizes that she dictates my emotion,
My ability to feel secure, sane,
Or completely dependant.

I dont think she realizes...

She's beautiful.

Stone Cold

Emotions run dry in the pool of emotions
The lies flood forth in a sea of despair,
You hate her,
Resent her,
But secretly you dream,
Of the girl with the eyes that made you so weak,
The girl who’s lips drip with lies,
The beautiful pretender who made you so blind,
To her lies, her scheming, her cheating disposition,
But your love for her remains,
In each tear that you shed,
You whisper her name like you did once before,
But deaf ears cant hear,
And stone hearts cannot feel.

Truth and Lies

Sometimes I wonder what’s truth and what’s lies,
Hovering between my sanity and dreams,
Wishing for a light to guide me through caverns
Of deceit and anger, punishment and fear,
Hiding in webs spun of hatred and tears,
Hoping you’ll pass me and keep right on looking,
For the girl that you saw with the smiles and cheer,
That exists forever more in her world of deception,
Hiding,
Dreaming,
Hoping
Wishing,
For a day that will never come to pass.

Shattered

Shattered mirrors show shattered souls,
A lovely heart all filled with holes,
Lose the feeling, hold the shame,
Fight for the heart that you want to reclaim.

Hold fast the hate born of love and desire,
The passion that set two souls on fire,
Hell breaks lose as the shattered becomes whole,
Watch out as heads begin to roll.

Lost in the moment as she lets it all go,
Pent up hatred that took its toll,
Theres nothing left of the angel she was taught to be,
Because of him, her hatred runs free.

Shattered mirrors show shattered souls,
A lovely heart all filled with holes,
Lose the feeling, hold the shame,
Fight for the heart that you want to reclaim.
