Allow Me To Introduce Myself

My name is Keisha..
I am in love with myself
I don’t need anybody else
I do everything on my own anyway
I do what I want no matter what anyone has to say
Your validation is not necessary
I have a license for self respect and confidence
That I don’t conceal but most definitely carry
I have a strong spirit
I am a lioness on the prowl
 I do all things to make myself proud
I possess a gift of love within myself
No one can take away my wealth 
I am blessed 
Way up like Sean and drake
I pride myself on being real
And guard myself from the fake
I know my worth 
I smile through every situation
The good, the bad and the worse
I can take pain like a soldier
I get back up when I’m down 
Come back bolder
I am a woman
A ruby, a rare gem to find
I am beauty, inside and out it shines
I have a beautiful soul
And an amazing mind
There’s nothing you can do or say to stop my grind

Count Your Blessings Not Your Problems

She doesn’t have a man,
But her trash gets taken out,
She doesn’t have a car,
But she knows the bus routes,
She doesn’t have a lot of money,
But her bills get paid,
She’s not super model pretty,
But her smile is as bright as the sun’s rays,
Her child doesn’t have a father,
But neither did she,
They have each other,
This seems to be all they need,
She doesn’t have a man to hold her at night,
But she wakes up to her daughter’s smile,
That makes everything alright,
She doesn’t have a lot of friends,
The one she has, is the truest to the end,
She gets lonely,
But she knows she’ll be ok
She doesn’t have a lot,
Things are not always great,
Some people have left her behind,
She’s grateful for the ones who stayed,
She doesn’t worry about what she lacks
She just thanks God, for always having her back.

To My Daughter

It hurts my heart to look in your face
And see that man who hurts you everyday
It hurts my heart that I can’t fill that space
You want so much to have someone to call dad
It hurts my heart when you have your emotional days
And you’re sad
It’s a void I can’t fill
I made you a promise, to make you happy 
And  I will
Even though he’s not around, know that you are loved still, 
You are my beautiful angel,
My sun shining bright,
 Through the darkest storm, you make everything alright
I will be your father, your mother, best friend and more
You don’t have to cry for him anymore, 
Smile for mommy baby, 
I’m always here
You are my heart beat, my laugh and my smile
You make everyday I’m alive worth wile 
I love you, more than you will ever know
Forever in me, you will have all you need
My daughter, my baby, my angel, my child

Best Friends Forever

We met in high school
And developed a bond so true
It goes beyond friendship
I found a sister in you
You’ve always been there for me
Through the good and the bad
You are there to celebrate my happiness
And cheer me up when I’m sad
You are smart and loyal
Honest and bold
I admire the fact that no matter what life brings your way
You are always in control
I look up to you, even though I’m older
You inspire me to be a better person
You’ve stayed by my side, when everyone else left
You see things in me that I don’t see in myself
You remind me to be proud of whom I am and know my worth
You are one of the strongest women I know
You’ve made it through some really bad times
With a smile on your face, even when you felt like crying
You are a beautiful sister, aunt, cousin and mother
Through the darkest times you just keep on shining
You let me know there’s hope and motivation to keep on going
Just like a blossoming garden we continue to keep on growing

Lost and Confused

I don’t know what happened,
I don’t know where things went wrong,
I thought I was doing everything right,
I was wrong all along,
It hurts now, but it will get better with time,
I just wish I could erase it from my mind,
I can’t stop crying, can’t stop thinking,
Can’t seem to understand; now I can’t stop drinking
I feel like I’m nothing, never good enough,
I put on a happy face and try to act tough,
This is all too much, I can’t deal anymore,
Was this all for revenge, are you trying to even the score?
What did I do that was so bad?
It’s not fair to treat me like this, it’s so sad,
I shake my head just thinking about it,
None of it makes sense so I guess it’s a loss I must dismiss,
Clearly it  was never meant to be,
A friendship lost over nothing, at least it seems that way to me,
I wish you the best; I can’t waste time hating you,
Just know this was your decision, 
We’ll go our separate ways,
I’ll do me and you do you.

My Future Man

Your eyes will see through souls
Your heart will be pure as gold
Your smile will be bright and bold
And your hand I will always want to hold
My future man,
Smart and funny,
Bringing joy to everyone around you
You will tell stories and have people on the edge of their seats
You will be a man that no one can beat,
My future man,
Brave and strong
A man of God, a man who belongs

Knowing My Worth

I’m not who I used to be
I’m stronger than a million moons
My faith flows through me like the sea
My mind is clear
My heart is at peace
The Lord has been testing me
Testing my strength by threatening to take my 
Most precious gifts away from me
I understand now
I have to appreciate what he has blessed me with
I lost sight of a lot of things
Worrying and crying wondering what it all means
All I had to do was give it to God 
And know that everything would be fine
He has taught me so much in so little time
The blessings I have are not to be taken for granted
I had a lot of growing up to do and healing on the inside
I had to learn that it’s ok to swallow my pride
God shows you things in ways that will shock you in to reality
He will test your faith and your mentality
I’m more positive now and most definitely grateful
I can feel me changing for the better 
I’m growing more and more each day
I thank him with all my heart for helping me find my way
Everything I ever wanted was right in from of me all along
I have faith, so I focus more on what’s right in my life

One Day My Love

Love is a powerful thing,
We all want it,
But do we know what it really is?
Do we know what it really means?
Love is something no one completely understands,
Love is unpredictable; you never quite know where you stand.
Love can make you feel weak at times
Love can take over and control your mind,
It can often invade your dreams,
Man, love can make you do some crazy things
I don’t know too much about it, I haven’t really experienced it myself
I’ve seen it a lot in my life,
Sometimes things work out, and sometimes it’s just not right
The right love will brighten your life,
Heal your heart, and make everything alright.
The right love comes from God; he sees what you’re going thru
And he sends an angel into your life to comfort and console you,
Love is something that everyone needs, but keep in mind
You have to be patient, kind and forgiving to succeed.
Love is ugly and beautifully amazing at the same time,
Love is something I hope to one day find.

Be Careful

A man will look at you and lie with a smile on his face
He will sell you dreams, 
Just to wake you up to the reality, 
That it was all fake,
He will make you feel special,
Like you’re the only one in his world
Only for you to find out, you’re just in rotation,
Just one of his options, his Wednesday girl
He’ll tell you you’re so beautiful and sweet
And not mean a word of it, just trying to get what he needs
You’re nothing to this man, 
No different than the others,
You’re just a way for him to buy time,
Until it’s time for him to see another,
He’ll stay around, as long as you allow,
He’ll continue to build you up,
And have fun tearing you down,
He’s a smooth talker,
A gentleman at times,
So his hurtful ways will take you by surprise
His looks are GQ,
His smile is nice too,
But if you’re not careful,
He’ll break your heart, it’s true
I’m not saying all men are bad,
I’m just saying,
Xbox and playstations,
Aren’t the only games they’re playing.
