My Butterfly

A perfumed breeze with summer lavender Shapeless smoked clouds had come and gone Through verdant valleys I strolled along Honeycombed hues warmed the new dawn A golden butterfly glided in the distance I just stood still and watched his flight From one flower to another His flapped wings fluttered I could not let him out of my sight I wondered 'bout this blissful beauty. Towards the riverbank I watched him roam If I could only fly away with him to destinations always unknown Imagine what places he has been what many glories he has seen A perfect waterfall tumbling into a clear blue pond Wet dewdrops glimmering 'pon the grass as the sleepy sun starts to rise A doe with her fawn taking those fragile first steps bees buzzing by swarming back to their hive I watched in amazement in awe of his grace I floated along as he flittered away We hovered together through a path between twin lakes then and there I kissed him before he silently slipped away That's the last time I saw him cuz now stone towers have been built Nature's been destroyed and the butterflies have been laid to rest

Looking Down My Street - a Collaboration

Looking down my tree lined street the setting sun casts her glow upon the Chestnuts, Maples, and Oaks dressed in worn out yellow ribbons telling the story of friendship and loss strength and courage. How there was hope and there were dreams. That life wouldn't pull us apart. There was community and passion and smiles each time you went through that revolving door. We prayed, yes we prayed for us that we wouldn't lose you that we wouldn't be missing someone so true. I raise my head up to the skies washing away a lingering tearful cry and remember .... Your amiable soul, dynamic, invincible and unique Your stupendous dose of humor, indulging, infectious and unstoppable. Your enthusiasm to give, to share, and your boundless care Your friendship, a treasure trove of trust worth. Wherever you were, there was harmony, and a breath of fresh air You were a friend, who never postponed one minute of life You used every minute to fill ours with joy I raise my head high and remember i remember the moment my laughter died that moment when I asked why Why are the good, the chosen ones, to suffer for others 'evil Why do they go first, why do they die young Why are they now far, so far ? In that moment of helplessness and doubt In that moment when faith was provoked I cried like a child, I didn t need another hero, I just wanted my friend back I wanted him so bad to be near, to survive Once again I raised my head, I got lost in the sky, And I swear I saw him with these eyes And I swear, I heard him with these ears He said, 'Death is not for the living, I am so much alive ' Then, it was night ! I raised up my head, and a luminous star lit my once darkened sky with warm breezing light.

Thank You

Another beautiful day has come to a close putting on my royal blue silken pajamas I call to my sweet one come take hold of my outstretched hand. We bow our heads and thank Him. Lord thank you for another terrific day for allowing the sun to rise up and shine thank you for warm gentle breezes that allowed us to fly our kites bringing so many bubbly smiles on our children Thank you dear Lord for the flowing stream and the wildflowers we saw along the way in our hunt for frogs and turtles. Thank you Lord for the food that we ate and the air that we breathed. It was such an exhilarating day. Thank you Lord for all the joy you bring the song of love you allow me to sing Thank you for bringing into my life a most beautiful soul, for gorgeous and happy children, and for making our lives whole So much to be grateful for dear Lord but none of my humble words are ever enough to praise you. Dear Lord It's my time to beg now So dont go away just yet I beg you for forgiveness for any harm I might have caused to my sister, or my brother to my working colleagues or any other I beg forgivness for all the times I choose the pleasure of darkness over what is really the bright side of life. Dear Lord, make men better husbands and make me a good wife. Dear Lord I beg you let not envy, power, success nor selfishness steal the purpose of my living and of what is right. Make me a better person Lord Help me choose You as my guide Let me be a faitful being to those who are in burden Help me to do little things everyday little things that make a difference to those i love, and those who pass my way Let me be a lending ear Let my smile relieve some pain Let me be at least one colour of the rainbow in their loneliness, in tearful rain Dear lord may those I meet in every street recognize I am Your own, not from my words but from my kindred deeds Last but not least, fill my heart with blissful grace as I share this serene night with the one you chose for me the one who has the most angelic face. Together Lord we thank you

I Wondered

Last night I lay in the darkness of my room like i always do Me, a dim lamplight and thoughts of you my only companions Everything was still Till I could listen to first pit pattering of raindrops Upon my. Windowsill Falling, falling gently down my amber rose leaves garden. Falling gently ,wildly, gushing , drumming, Like your heart beat on those scented nights in the hallway by the fireplace, face to face I wondered if water shadows were there too In a distant land, in another path and in a different time I wondered if you think of me too, over a cup of tea whilst reading your newspaper, or just sitting in your porch..I wondered.. Last night I sat, staring off into space. My newspaper not opened. My lemon tea gone cold. Everything so still, until the rain started to fall, dripping slowly, rhythmically, then faster, faster, harder, harder, quicker, quicker splattering onto the broken concrete sidewalk pounding like the beat of my heart when we cuddled under the moonlit sky. I wondered do you ever think of me does the moon bring back memories do you lie awake at night in your room dreaming of me....I wondered..

One Lazy Afternoon

It was one lazy afternoon laying in the hammock under the azure sky sheltered from the blistering sun by the canopy of the old oak tree chru chru chru warbles from the Bluebird can be heard as she calls for her mate Closing my eyes I soar, I soar so high above the tallest branch floating free gliding in the wind travelling towards the perfumed breezes of pansy fields watching their velveteen petals sway like her hips when she dances in the stream watching their alluring moves attracting the pollinator with seducing aromas Almost tasting the sweetened nectar soft and smooth like her honeycombed hair pleasing like her sun-kissed skin which keeps taunting my dreams with ephimeral wishes of untamed adventures with her.

The Portrait

He cloaked her skin with a dark silk gown made of tattered wings neath the hunter' skies He covered her hair with a mourning veil Upon her face his hands did play Mysteriously the vacant gaze the secret pains His brush did paint the monaliza's eyes upon her lips he carved a smile with no expressions nor expectations of what one is to behold Enigmatic, Suffocating Secret whispers still untold Ghostly mist will keep on lingering in the silence of her soul There she stares from the old portrait Would somebody let her go? He stares He ponders Was this the girl who entered his dream? Did he paint her pain? Was she the same? Lush lips that couldn't smile Sullen eyes that couldn't lie telling of strife unable to bloom sheltered from the light Futures slowed Hopes dashed Dreams crushed Was he to save her? Thoughts echoed in his mind Is he her savior? Her mystery? Her hero? Will he fly to her side? Will he be her star that shines? Listen closely the portrait calls save me, come save me

As We Dance

In the sky less stars tonight But who needs shards of light when the sparkle in your heart ignites fire in the alley of my mind. I close my eyes, just to feel me swinging in your arms I trust to fall knowing you will hug me tightly as we dance Under a sky void of light, my sweet Psyche, my soul I keep your world upright. The darkness now bright, truth streaming from deep behind those wonton eyes. My heart has been ignited by the comfort of your mind as we dance

Hey Stranger

I wonder what you'd say If I met you today in another time in a better place. Somehow,Somewhere Would you recall my name? Would you recognize this face? Would you recognize my smile? The same smile which knows the color of your eyes. Hey stranger would you pass me by with no turning back or will you look my way? Will snapshots reverbrate that once upon an autumn day? If I met you today in a different time in some better place eventhough your name might be different that face slightly changed Somehow, Someway I would know it was you. That cute little smile when you look in my eyes That glow on your cheek The moment we speak The sparkle within displaying your deep loving soul The beat of your heart needing to make me whole Hey stranger would you pass me by with no turning back or will you look my way? Will snapshots reverbrate that once upon an autumn day? Not a chance on our life would i pass you on by I would grab hold your hand and make you my wife.

Remember

Remember that time Oh that smile that beautiful smile that little playful smirk tugging at my shirt waiting for me to ask you to dance That little blue skirt Cashmere sweater Your cheeks, bright red rouge batting your long silk eyelashes at me You were a flirt Remember that time My hands so clammy My heart a flutter Finally asking you to dance You took my hand Squeezing so tight Oh you were the perfect sight How can I not remember or can I ever forget that midnight blue polo shirt and that baseball hat It seems not long ago I wore flowers in my hair Ahh, that lavender breeze Close by, a carousel You raised your brow many a time I swear I caught you stare It seems not long ago but it's been thirty years or so when your steady hand got hold of my own And i never let it go I can still recall that winsome grin and butterflies churning within You asked me if I wanted to dance Stole my heart away and put me in a trance It seems not long ago but its been thirty years or so Your tremerous hand got hold of my own and I never let it go, no i never let it go

Rainfall

Hiding alone in the shadows guarded, trusting no one silently watching, waiting Is life worth living? Can anyone save him? His vision clouded, blurred The sunless skies have him confused Rainfall begins a drenching and soaking rain pours down flooding the autumn bonfires Which blazed in once upon a time with ardent passion in the dense forest of happily ever afters
