A Shadow

In this waking existence
Where I merely reside
I just exist
A shadow of the light
Out of sight
Out of mind
That is the reality of my life
I merely exist
To be seen
To be invisible
To be heard
To be silenced
I am all
Yet I am nothing
I merely reside in this existence
With nothing to truly call my own
I am just myself
A shadow of the light

Chaos

What is there in this wasted land
That brings sorrow to every heart
Love and Hate move across the time span
Threatening peace with chaos abound

Love and kindness in the light
Hate and sadness in the dark
One to guide throughout the night
One to leave its unwanted mark

Love and Hate hold thin its line
A fragile balance about to tilt
Chaos faces loves decline
Breaking the peace to the hilt

Never free from love or hate
Always caught by their unwavering stance
Chaos always there, lying in wait
For the balance to fade and break its trance

Hope

In this realm, Where evil dwells
And light is but a dream
The darkness of chaos surrounds us
Without hope to light the way
We wander blindly
Searching from place to place
We walk aimlessly
Forever searching
Forever looking
Forever walking
Forever caught in the darkness
Yet we will never stop
We will never give up
We will continue on
We will find the light
The light that will guide us
The light that will give us hope
The light which will repel the darkness

Escape

Exhaustion, fatigue, hopelessness
These are feelings that take hold over me as I run.
Run to escape, to forget
Run till I can no longer move, no longer breathe
Till exhaustion sets in and I collapse from the futility of it all
I run from the despair that is my life
From the hope that is no longer there
I run from the ever haunting nightmare that is my past
I run from the future I could have had
The future that I should have had
I run from the monster who haunts my dreams
I run to escape the darkness
Always knowing that sooner or later I will get caught
Caught by the darkness that is past
Caught by the monster whose name I once took
Caught like some insignificant fly in a spider’s web
Struggling futilely to escape only to realize that there is no such thing
One can never escape their past
Only run from it
Only hide from it
Always scared of getting caught by it

Time

Time is never ending
It just flows above and below us
Never tiring, never stopping
It is just a cruel phantom who mocks us
We are in its grasp
Never able to escape
We are born just so that we can die
Time knows this, thus its mocking stance
We can never escape our past
For time will surely hold us to our unspoken truth
We can never be truly free
For we shall always be time's prisoner
True, the prison we find ourselves are of our own making
But who holds the power of the unforgettable truth
Of memories best left forgotten
Who keeps us from forgetting
Who holds us prisoners of our own making
