I Wonder What God Would Say

I wonder what God would say
About those who come before him,
Only to use his name
To gather financial gain..

I wonder what God would say
When the first thing you do
When you leave your place of worship
Is engage in idle gossip...

I wonder what God would say
To those who don't know the lives of their brothers,
Yet find it fit to criticize
And fight down one another...

I wonder what God would say
About those who claim
To proclaim in his name
Only for fortune and fame...

I wonder what God would say
About the tongue of man
Used to slander
And engage in malicious behavior...

I wonder what God would say
To those who reveal secrets
Made known to them in confidence,
Causing them to lose the trust that was once placed in them...

I wonder what God would say
To those who endorsed slavery
Giving permission to trade human beings
Buying and selling them like property..

I wonder what God would say
About those who say they're blessed
And have experienced his greatness
Yet find it hard to follow a path of kindness...

I wonder what God would say
About our man made decisions
To create separation
Through racism, sexism and religion

I wonder what God would say
About so many things..
If he existed only in our minds
And not in the outreach of our lives
As we've been taught to believe as a child...

I wonder what God would say...
Would he regret his decision
To place man on this earth,
His decision to give woman
The ability to procreate; to give birth,
His decision to give us the ability to think
And choose freely;-
As to whether we believe in the theory of Evolution
Or the theory of Creation?
All in all it's still our decision
To make
But I've always wondered what God would say...

Weather Pleasure

I woke up this morning to the sound of you
Tapping my window pane,
I looked outside and saw the dew
from the lullaby you played.

Throughout the night
You put me to rest with your rhythmic beat,
And much to my delight,
I enjoyed every bit of it.

You showered me with pleasure,
And ensured I fell asleep,
You made me love the weather
From beneath the comfort of my sheets.

The coldness of your touch,
Sent shivers down my spine,
No one will know just how much
You're playing on my mind

So now that you've kissed me,
And sang me that lullaby,
You've made me so happy,
That I can't go back to being dry

The Wait

Society does not want me to wait,
Instead they want me to date,
And communicate with duplicate
Copies of you;

Indulge myself in the world's pleasure
Until I find you, my perfect treasure,
Forget my morals and my standards
And satisfy the desire of mere mortals.

Don't get my wrong 'cause I'm not saying
That I can rid the world of all its mayhem.
Mother nature's disasters we can't accurately predict
But our natural reactions we can depict.

So I'll wait until the time is right
It may be either day or night
I know exactly what I want to do;
And that is, I'll continue to wait for you!

So I will no longer date
Or communicate with duplicate
Copies of you;
I will appreciate
The wait,
Until the day I find you
