Too Young

She held me vice like
frozen to the floor
with just her eyes
those big blue eyes
her lashes were short
but her stories were long
and the tears lasted longer
than I'd ever seen before
In a person so young.
She didn't weep out of want
but out of need
for someone to understand
'too young' I said
but inside my head
for I had to be strong
she needed someone to depend on
and although i was younger
and couldn't interpret the abuse
I could feel the pain from her eyes
and I knew I needed to protect her
so I gave her a shoulder
and I tried to be bolder
I kept her away from him
whenever I could
slumber parties we lied
just to get her away
from the clutches of evil
in a normal house
where no one suspected
but I knew it's secrets.

What Am I

Preposterous
Angry
Rabid
Antisocial
Neurotic
Overly suspicious
Irrational
Deranged

Riot

the mirrors and glasses can't help but falling
the tough and the mindless can't help but brawling
when earth's soul gapes through the looking glass
only pure spirits can protect it.

Past

The past gives me goosebumps, to think about in detail, not to hover over the pits like a
feather, but to burrow deep down into the cracks and the creases, to unpeel the half healed
wounds and to pour salt on the cuts that are red and angry.

Nearly You

Sitting stiff with an ache, I think shove this, give me a break.
I've been looking for far too long, boredom hits the shelves and i realise it must be gone.
All this time I've been looking for what wasn't mine, those words are yours and always will
be.
I judge them cold but I know they can't be.
"look at me and you see my heart, look into my heart, do you see yourself?"
Does this mean im only there if i want to be?
What if i do, will you feel it too?
Nearly you.
All this complication, the games and the lies, you stole from me once and i said my good
byes.
But apologies came and I couldn't let go.
So your still here but at a safe distance, is there any point if i can't even reach you?
I suppose things are gonna change, whether I like it or not, so do I sit back and just let the
boat rock?
All these deep little questions are giving me headache.
I'll just go with the flow but keep the gas turned low, the fire therefore is yet to be lit.
It's up to you now, don't let the moment slip.

See Through

There you stand, staring straight through me
I must be empty
No colour, no brains, no history
If you hit me it wouldn't hurt
Yet I'd shatter from the inside
And I'd fall down, But who would pick me up?
Can you see what's inside, or do you see past me?
I admit, yes I'm shallow
But I can't succumb to more
Unfortunately I'm a window
Who's in love with the door.

Dream Land

You walk along a plank of wood, high above civilisation, your eyes flutter
the wood turns to butter
what once was wood, is now a cloud, lifting you higher than you've ever dared to dream
you fall back with certainty, the only place you dare to trust
a soft pillow awaits you, and you breath in fresh linen
your senses are awake, and daring you to seek,
what occurs beyond the sheets
your hands push you up and your feet find their place,
the covers fall away, your bed becomes a ship
you can feel the adventure awaiting your presence
oh if dreams could be forever
your imagination would find you hapiness.

It's You

Untameable emotion shoots through my veins
like a white hot flame
Twisting, contorting
In the name of your being
my eyes refuse to give in
to the peace that night promises
the pain makes me restless
yet i can't forget
how i feel so worthless
so unloved it's untrue
do I not deserve hapiness for being with you?
Why is it that your soul insists
on not fitting with mine
it taunts and bruises
the meaning unkind
I swallow my sadness as it dives deep inside of me
is our love not meant to be?
Simple decisions too fragile to be made
the truth lies present
yet the future disguised
why is it that i can't read your eyes?

Forbidden

Once or twice
I thought it might be nice
To run away and forget my life
But the truth is that
I can't let go
For emotions own the better of me
But wouldn't it be lovely
To make up a new me.

If Only

I've got eyes wide open like candlelight
But I can't tame the fire in my eyes.
my mind is a jigsaw and you keep throwing in pieces
I don't have the time to put them together now.
I'm too tired to go to sleep
my eyes are burning, my thoughts are in overdrive
I want to dream, but when I close my eyes I will think of you
I breathe in stale air to an angry throat
and song lyrics twist around the jigsaw pieces,
coating them in a sweet blanket of confusion and self pity.
Oh why can't everything be pretty.
