Judy Bonin Poem
Hardened solid is the clay
That shapes the way I am today
I dream escape from endless grief
Restoring child-like belief
Experience has made me cold
Stolen who I was before
Left behind half of a whole
Changed the essence of my core
I wish to dance in brilliant light
Cleanse my soul with gentle rain
Slumber sound in dark of night
At dawn awaken without pain
Soar up high in skies above
Gaze down upon meadows green
To once again believe in love
To have faith in things unseen
Memories that formed the clay
Although impossible to do
Will them all to melt away
And live the bliss that I once knew

Judy Bonin Poem
(the word (moll) means a mobsters wife or girlfriend)
I heard of a wiseguy named Guido
Who suffered a waning libido
His disgruntled moll
Made a quick call
Now Guido is incognito

Judy Bonin Poem
dead silence
the big hand strikes
my final hour
little hand on the five
time for me to go home

Judy Bonin Poem
Driving into town
church his destination
Body weak and weary
in need of inspiration
Just a retired handyman
short and rather stout
The Lord's been good to Jim
since surrendering his doubt
Started reminiscing
'bout a visit way before
in this same old church house
forty years ago, or more
Large cabin, high beamed ceilings
same pews to break his fall
Back then Jim didn't trust a soul
even maker of us all
What a long road it'd been
since he was last here
So much pain and tribulation
loneliness and fear
Running down a weathered face
were tears he could not hide
'bout 'foolish spent' vitality
when youth was on his side
Wondered if he stole a piece
of the church that he revered
Would it restore vigor past
if he held it near?
Startled church was over
Jim stood up with a grin
"Fancy, wishful dreams made me
forget why I came in!"
While walking through the lot he spied
an old oak by his truck
Jim cut a snippet off a branch
and brought it home for luck

Judy Bonin Poem
Dark and safe, the sinking night
Emotions stir before dawn's light
proceeds to hide the awakening heart
be it whole or only part
Alive! Awake and questioning
the truth concerning everything
Before the moon sets down below
the restless soul longs to know
true meaning of this pulse inside
that which no one can confide
The soul retreats with morning's glow
never to find what is to know

love unrequited
burns like a moth to a flame
alas forgotten
