The Clouds, the Sea and Me

Puffy Cotton

Parade by single file
Holding precious treasure inside
Carrying smells of flowers
Perfume for my hair

Oceanic Dreams

Shimmer sheen of azure
Waves that carry love
Undulating waves of passion
Salt spray in my face

Waves

Moving waves set in time
Gliding o’er coral reef
I love to make them mine
Becoming one with the sea

Surf

Sitting on boards like ducks in a row
Waiting for just the right time
Paddle fast and make it glide
Taking off and gliding past
Turning hard into a wave
Kissing the wall caressing it’s face
Emotional thrill as it takes me along
I feel like a note in refrain of a song

Storms

Clouds and sea meet on vast horizon
Billowing sails turn dark with rain
Ocean painted in stormy surrender
Moods are violent and restless’
the sea is master today
clouds softly sweep it tenderly
the sun hides in shadows
waiting with expectancy

 Love
I am one with all, whether fair or stormy day
Surfing on the large sheets of shimmer
Glidng down the face of her waves
Wiping out in turbulent surrender
Surfacing to take in perfumed air
In all this I will remember
You are searching for me out there

In the Autumn of My Years

Memories linger melancholy as I approach the bridge to the Gardens de Sol. A picture forms in my weary mind; Just a mere shadowed mirage, like an old faded photograph in a heart shaped locket kept near my soul centre for days, weeks and decades…. while fall winds crooning blue zephyrs frigid, incantations upon the once verdant meadows where the fawns grazed and wild horses pranced so breezy carefree on fine spring days.... I whirled and twirled , a carefree dance on patches of clover and dandelions in the spring of my youth Reveling joie de vivre of sun Sol warming skin and soul pink I remember our long, meandering walks in a picture perfect rose garden scented with redolent pines and aromatic wild flowers we conversed for hours, my hand in yours thrilling at your every word infatuated by a fervent touch You, idly picking petals off a rose; the deep timbre of your delicious laugh resounding joy to my acquiescent ears as I cavorted playfully in the garden’s fountain until lengthening shadows quilted the path with reluctant to leave, sun beams of a late summer afternoon And afterwards, in twilight violet sky; intimate moments by a blazing fire, silent music of our hearts thrumming a lovers sonata while you kissed me; gold specked brown orbs, so pleasurable and beguiling, warming my soul full of tomorrows promise and forgotten yesterdays Now, as I picture this quixotic drama rehearsed again and again one solitary tear slowly trails down and comes to rest on lines that were not there yesterday….. Dead cornflake leaves crunch under my feet as I walk the very same bridged pathway to the garden alone my only audience a solitary prickly cactus in the autumn of my years.......

Surfing Poseidon

I saw you riding the wild waves cool trade-wind breezes blowing, through your long dark curly hair; dropping off the lip in adrenaline rush through spectacular silver liquid tubes as you obsessed glassy spiral perfection so wantonly barrel dragging your hand caressing her curves, so seductively the ultimate liquid thrill then soul cruising a long ride in……. I, infatuated with your form Seduced by perfection I just knew in fathom depths of my heart inside, out I fell in love with you, forever on that day.... Your soulful sultry brown eyes, red- brown tanned smooth silk skin strong muscular frame, power built broad chest to rest my weary head upon.... the body of steel pleasure I can’t lie or deny that I want all of your delicious kisses, and your strong warm caring arms wrapped around me with the same passion that you caress her curves. you know that I can’t get enough of you... my surfing Poseidon

Confronting a Pharisee

When you said those things you said to me,
You had never given it a single thought……
About what might be going on in my life.
You assumed that I had done something on purpose
to upset you or let you down, to break your rules.

You never once emailed me to find out why I was absent……

All the while for days I struggled with the news,
not wanting to tell people that I care about this new “sob story” .
Like I haven’t had enough sob stories in my life lately to tell.
I feel contagious with negativity. Like I have leprosy…..
Poetically speaking.
Who wants to hang with somebody with troubles all the time?
But……I sat all alone in the doctors office shaking at the news given to me.
The C-Word…that dreaded word…..that word that my Daddy heard.
The ****ing C Word that killed him and now my turn.
Maybe.. Maybe
We shall see, It is in my Father’s hands and His will ... I serve Him.

And you, my “friend”, were IN MY FACE with some stupid accusation:

“Why did you not post a poem here or comment in so long?
Are you just too busy for us?
Don’t you know we need to have those comments?
Well, you can answer me within 24 hours or I will delete your page from my poetry site.”

I could not believe my eyes when I read that!

Are we going to learn to not judge others before opening our mouth to accuse?
Are we going to throw burning coals upon the maimed
that are already laid out as food for demons
and assume that they aren’t living up to our expectations?

ASSUME: making an ASS out of U and Me.
Where is the love that you said you have for me?
 'Friend/sister?'
One thing I won’t tolerate: That is MY not forgiving you for the hurt you have caused.
I FORGIVE YOU and release you from this careless mistake.
But I also ASK you to learn something from it and not repeat it with another person who
maybe hurting.
NO! I don't want to get IN YOUR FACE in return.
And please, Forgive me when I don’t live up to your expectations.
When you crucify me or somebody else, you did it to Him all over again.

Are those tears falling from the heavens today?

Nectar of Life

nectar of life from a distant throne shadows breathe in a constant drone dewdrops lose their glorious bright And colors seeping back to white chaos churns the rivers grime o'er smooth stones made of time filters pure, ancient golden goal creative essence of the soul whittle away chaos gray write the words you have to say somewhere in each waterfall poetic feeling of a distant call paths to journey made quite clear with all it’s folly, sorrow and fear essence of a greater power love breathed peace in final hour envisioning Nova of one’s death goal to love with each last breath

Inferno

Shards of words smashed against a wall, an exploding nova of raw emotions that had once been a systemized order of frangible letters, Cataclysmic dispersion Fiery projectiles of quasar syllables scatter haphazardly, littering sterile tile floor.. Cold, bloody rivulets of anger run thickly red to create a dark, staining puddle, seeping deep into cracks.

Affluent

On the sidewalks of beautiful and opulent Waikiki, in step with the wealth of nations, a homeless society, lapping at the scraps, sleeping in doorways and beach park benches , amongst affluent foreigners, under cover of shady scenic banyon trees. She wanders elite avenues in search of her oasis, dripping with the pretentiousness, of a Starbucks cafe gourmet she mused, sipping a double mocha latte with extra froth, topped with shaved chocolate , and a "touch"of Madagascar cinnamon from a hot- cold cup, that she holds with shaking hands, dirty, broken nails and then she dabs at the corners of penciled lips, outlined several times in contrasting color, with a bit of the sleeve of her second hand denim designer jacket. Putting the cup down and picking up the designer copy of a pen that skips occasionally, needing to be tapped on the edge of the table, she pauses for thought and begins to compose a napkin sonnet for a needy friend

Music of Poetry

redolent flower brushed in light of white rosebud tears on soft petals with sips of champagne she spoons down the poem in bits and pieces leaving something of herself unfettered between the lines requesting a song blending in with sounds of night sonata drifting
