Pacing back and forth
Battling woes that don't exist

tigers free

Treading on free ground

Blue Bird

This lovely bird!
Have you seen him
At your window?
Have you heard?
His sweet singing in forests
Not babbling! To you
Spill the beans.

Tiger Tableau

     Tiger Tableau

Six shots rang out loud
Woke the jungle calm
My trained tiger hit
Landed on me hard
Good thing I am fat
We both could have died

Part 2, Scratches

I lie here waiting for the endless stream,
Hoping no black tiger dreams
Night came and went, comes and goes
No human comfort makes its show.

Black tiger scratches in my mind,
Hoping one day love he’ll find
But my supple mind has no love left to share;
Black tiger’s sharp claws meet air.

TIGER WOODS complete long version

Tiger Woods
    By Victoria Anderson-Throop

What a hero-- Tiger Woods--
He sells golf and sporting goods.
Chases ladies in the night
Tells kids not to curse or fight

Tiger, Tiger burning bright--
You must learn to play it right.
When temptation’s in your face
Putt a caddy in your place.

Tiger in Aries

Tiger in Aries (acrostic)

Tiger mighty one are you
In deep shadows you lie
Great king of the jungle
Enjoying your slumber
Roaring out your anger

In fury when disturbed
Not a single leaf moves

As you stalk your prey
Ready now for a kill
Icy cold is your glare
Eyes brightly shining as
Silently you eat your fill

Part 1, Black Tiger

The tiger lies in wait; he knows what happens now
As the sweat drips of his hunter's brow.
I run from my hunted hunter
From a hate that none can counter.

The sweaty hunter grabs the tiger’s tail;
Orange stripes slip away; he fails.
Black tiger runs forward
Relief interrupted, my soul toward.

He will catch me
I am not free
One hunter has failed
Black tiger will succeed.

Tiger running free

Tiger running free

Tiger running through the scrub
The sun upon his back
Muscles rippling all aglow
He’s sprinting down the track

All lesser beasts they hide away
What can they do but cower?
They feel it in their frightened souls
This wild cats mighty power.

But striped oppressor doesn’t care
That’s not where he is at
He’s just playing with his cubs
This big, soft, gentle cat.

Tigers

Through the jungle the tiger moves silently
Like a ghost moving through the trees
It stalks its prey with ease
Then pounces with deadly accuracy

No cage to confine this majestic beast
No zoo to diminish its beauty
No circus to subdue its wild spirit
No whips to put scars upon its back

In the jungle he is king
And is feared by all who dwell within
Tigers running wild, living free
That's the way it was meant to be

Prey

The deer topped the hill
It breathed in the mountain air
A tiger approached unaware
Its belly it wished to fill
The deer it planned to kill
Hunger was the tiger's only care
The deer would not have time to prepare
The tiger would take it standing still
It was the way of the wild
Of this there was no doubt
Life could not be fun and mild
Survival was what it was all about
The tiger would live today
The deer would become its prey.

A Day in the Life

in India’s heat the spoors of a lone creature. . . leading to water in a shallow pool the solitary beast bathes. . . sun pours down golden a lame gaur wanders near the tall yellow grasses. . . the crouching tiger around the carcass two females join in to feed. . . benevolence reigns racing with shadows as dusk steaks the orange sky. . . the Bengal tiger Written 7/29 for Shadow Hamilton's New Contest Tigers Living Free

Tiger Manners

            Tiger Manners

Mom makes tea in the cabin
Leaves baby on the porch to sleep
Under the canopy of shade
There in the jungle creatures have their ways
As mom returns to feed the baby
Finds it missing from the cradle
Babies flesh is warm and oh so tender
Tigers need to eat fresh meat
Rips the child from limb to limb
Nature leaves a calling card
No table manners or invites required
A friendly reminder of whose living room you’re in

A Tiger's Resemblance

I am like a tiger, untamed
Free to go, unnamed
Roars to injustice
Leads the trial
Fears no species
Becomes no slave
I am like a tiger
In his speed and games
In his trick and claims
I am like a tiger
In its beauty in color
And its devotion that smothers
I am like a tiger
King of the game
Leader and the main
Claws as sharp
Steps as smart
I am like a tiger
I get what I want
In stealth and sly
I am like a tiger
I fight and never do I flee

Who killed who

The Tiger and the Bear.
Tooth and claw, tearing
flesh as death draws near.

Primitive killer instincts and
lack of fear

Sheer brute strength with a
blood thirst to quench.

The Bear, a tower of strength
with a razor sharp Bear hug to
dissuade.

The Tiger, a ferocious attack upon
your back. Blends in like the wind
itself, moves with stripes of deadly
stealth.

The Tiger and the Bear.
Tooth and claw, tearing
flesh as death draws near
