WHEN I STOP AND PRAY

When the storm clouds boil around me,
And the lightning splits the sky--.
When the howling wind assails me,
And life's sea is rolling high--
When my heart is filled with terror,
And my fears, I can't allay--
Then I find sweet peace and comfort,
When I simply stop and pray.

When the things of life confound me,
And my faith is ebbing low--
When my trusted friends betray me,
And my heart is aching so--
When the night seems black and endless,
And I long for light of day--
Then I find a silver dawning,
When I simply stop and pray.

There are things beyond the heavens
I can't begin to understand,
But I know that God is living,
And I know He holds my hand.
Yes, I know He watches o'er me
All the night and all the day--
And He's always there to hear me
When I simply stop and pray.

The End

The End

Seeing through these cold dead eyes now,
This world looks much different.

The scars of one’s life entire,
Appear now for all to see.

What once meant everything,
Really means nothing now.

I still see and sense things mortal,
But the earthly world can’t hear my words.

Lying on an ice-cold white slab this darkest night,
I see the pale yellow moon’s sad face in the sky.

With visions of people who’ve crossed over before,
I wonder when Charon shall finally appear?

Shall it be him who appears on this new horizon?
Or shall it be someone or something else?

The everyday mortal world moves on as before:
Regardless of one’s wealth, poverty, fame, shame, infamy.

I guess now all the ancient mysteries of the universe,
Shall become obvious and answered in kind.

I wonder what shall be said to me and the reception?
Thumbs up or thumbs down—I guess I shall find out.

The pale yellow moon now appears brighter . . .
As if a special message cometh soon from a winged angel.

Hope this helps to answer my lingering questions . . .
As the dark void from the mortal world grows greater now.

I feel a gentle tug pulling me upward now from Earth’s grasp,
Into the majestic arms of infinity and into God’s eternal light!

Reflection of an old man

As I gaze upon a frail old man opposite me He looks at me and a smile appears on his face I decide to stop and talk to him for a while To reflect upon those years gone by Old man, where has your life gone? Time has flown by, doesn't life moves so fast Can you remember when you were younger? Handsome man with long dark hair, the ladies loved, but its all gone now, not even any grey patches A gleam in your eye just like James Dean, but your face is old and wrinkly now Your hands were so strong, but now shake and shiver Like a stallion, your strength was of legends, but through the years you became so weak and fragile Do you remember all the loves? All those hearts your broke? The one that broke your heart? I know she skips through your mind from time to time Such a beautiful woman, full of class, you thought one day you would marry, have lots of children and die happy. Funny how life works out, how it never goes to plan What you have today is never what you thought it would be Do you remember all those who hurt you? Through time you learnt to forgive, life is too short for grudges I know you miss your real beloved, your precious mother, who sacrificed her life for you Who held you so close the day you were born, sadly, you lost her so young Life was hard with so much poverty, and I know you wonder what happened to your childhood, but you got through and learnt how to spread love You didn't let the demons defeat you, because your were drawn to the angels Think about all the happiness you brought, how many tears you wiped away and how you listened But what about those dreams you had? Do you have many regrets? Or is life too short for that? Do you feel you have left behind a legacy? I see loneliness in your eyes, everyone you loved, has left in the end. Are you happy with what you will leave behind? Do you like what you see in the mirror? As, I turn away from the mirror, and tears roll down my face I think to myself, what happened to the fun and the adventure Whatever happened to all those passengers? What happened to me? But, then I remind myself, life is what it is and everything happens for a reason Some you win, some you lose Life is too short for regret It's good to reflect, but also good to be content... This Song is for my Mother

This song is for my mother
Let her hear me cry
I couldn’t bring myself to write it
‘Til this darkened day arrived
A song about old promises
Made so long ago
Created and cremated
Ashes of the words I spoke

Long separated by the miles
Distanced from her golden smiles
Memory of a mother
Shared my dreams and really cared

Long separated by the miles
Distanced from her golden smiles
Mama…
I know I wasn’t there……

For you

Would have placed
A magic carpet
‘neath your weak and shaky legs

Would have raised
A strong west wind
Let you breathe with ease again

Would have bribed
God’s venal angels
Come and soothe your endless pain

Would have vanquished
All the demons
And bring peace to you again

Be the child
I never knew
In a land
We won’t grow old

Be the light
I always loved
Warmed my dark
And lonely soul

Be the girl
Playing games
In a world
The sun won’t set

Be the laughter
Calms my heart
I never will forget
I won’t forget, won’t forget

This song is for my mother
Let her hear me cry
Couldn’t bring myself to write it
‘Til this darkened day arrived
Song about old promises
Made so long ago
Created….cremated
Ashes of the words I spoke

I broke my promises, oh mama
Now you’ve gone away
I’m broken
Drowning in the pain each day

I’m drowning…drowning...drowning…drowning

This song is for my mother
Let her hear me…….

Sleeping With The Enemy

SLEEPING WITH THE ENEMY

See what you want to see
Don't Look at me!
You are staring you are watching;
Eat what you can't be

Come sleep by my side
The whole world is our playground
Don't make a sound
Stop clowning around

In the mist of the night,
You keep me from crying

I wipe off the taste of your lips
You kiss me starting at my inner hips
You broke me in a way..
I hate to say your love is better every day
I deny you, the one thing I can't say

You are my pillow
Where I rest my legs,
Can you feel me~
This moment feels right
I just want to die here,
Die here ~
Die here by your side

I sleep with my eyes wide open,
I sleep with the enemy by my side
Come here and hold me
After you watched my worlds collide
Come here and love me
I'm yours till the end of time
You can rock me!
Under the moon and its rhyme
I put it all to a side, how I hate you inside
I can't let go
I just want you to know
I'm a fool in love with you
Even if it doesn't show!

It Is Springtime In Heaven

It is now springtime in heaven Sky is so blue...sun shining so bright Beautiful flowers are everywhere Angels are dancing...as the harps play Here on earth...we scamper around Sky is so blue...sun shining so bright Beautiful flowers are everywhere We are missing the angels in heaven Angels are dancing...as the harps play They await the day...as we do also As once again we will all be together Our mothers and us...in heaven above Dedicated to: Our Mothers in Heaven and her children who will be missing her this weekend on Mother's Day To all of you who still have your mother here on earth with you make sure she knows how much you love her.

BetweenThe Lines

Between the lines I walk a million miles You hold me in your arms a hundred thousand times Between the lines I wonder about your dark and serene nights Are you all alone,Is there someone on the phone Is there someone by your side Rubbing off the colours of my little smile Between the lines, you're on my mind I will spend a lifetime searching for your eyes Searching just for you,Oh darling if you'd knew Would your lips make love to me the way they used to do Will you come between the lines or leave me feeling blue Between the lines there's a paradise,Between the lines I write So many words unsaid, many moments gone, and wishes still unheard Between the lines ,between the lines I write you'll once again arise Blazing in my heart like a candlelight You still live inside of me,you re-appear suddenly You keep getting closer ,so unexpectedly Between the lines, yes you are still there ,and I am still here We were meant to be,never to be set free Between the lines,,between the lines I write

Shadows In My Mind

Darkness brings the shadows
Of places I have been
Memories loom in corners
Rattling in the wind
Sometimes whispers haunt me
Never letting go
Race across the star shine
Answers left unknown
Reaching blindly through the night
Someone to hold close
Only to find vapors
Drifting down like tears
Shadows never listen
'Till the morning light
Then I'll follow sunrise
Far into my mind

Then I'll follow sunrise

                          Far into my mind

Sun And Moon

. I am the moon hanging solitary in the sky watching sails fluttering by breathlessly against the wind. I'm just a rock ,dark, unknown without a light that is my own. Yet He ,He sees hues I cannot see and the true colours in me. He, He is familiar to my face This face that shines less brightly without his full embrace. He is the sun, He is the one Never so close , always too far yet still staying behind me . He casts his softest glow reflecting orange and soul, He penetrates his warmth A fire ball of wants , Then fades ,fades away in the horizon. He is the sun, He is the one in a universe of nothingness . He fills our gaps, hopes and regrets Never so close ,always too far yet still staying behind me. I am the moon ,He is the sun He is the one...He is the one

Think Not Of This Night

My cherished one , Think not of this night with an absent moon But think of those nights that we used to know Think of those nights 'neath the sky's window light where we lay side by side . Think of sea-scents that wafted before Think of old waves that lulled us to sleep as they lapped on the shore. My cherished one , Think not òf this night with an absent moon But think of those nights that we used to know Think of those nights 'neath the sky's window light where we lay side by side . Your tanned face was not a blank page It was filled with sweet words that I spilled and soft kisses I've trailed. My cherished one , Think not of this night with an absent moon But think of those nights that we used to know Oh those nights 'neath the sky's window light where we lay side by side . On those nights, how you gazed with deep amorous eyes . As Spring was half-dressed , your restless fingers caressed Out of love , it was built , our warm cosy nest . But flowers just didn't bloom , and birds couldn't survive , Nor did our dream , or our child , Neither did you in the line of my life . My cherished one , Think not of this night with an absent moon but think of those nights that we used to know Think of those nights under the sky's window light where we lay side by side ,Oh yeah , once we lay side by side .

Sing Solitude-Play Soltude-Confetti's Song

Hidden away
between the broken chimes
of church bells
lies the dream of a man
the waltz of a butterfly
and love for one woman
He carves her name from a star
on a pebble~
burying it deep
where corals sleep

Across the moon
wishes concieve
from moist salt on his cheek
in the womb of an ocean
ocean so deep,ocean so dark
dark as the night in his soul

Hidden away
between the broken chimes
of church bells
lies the dream of a woman
the soft breeze of a petal
and love for one man
She paints his smile from a rainbow
holding it high ~
where sunsets splash
in the sky

Across the moon
wishes concieve
in the womb of a desert
desert so steep,desert so dry
dry as each crack on her lips

Hidden away
between the melidious chime
of church bells
lives the love of a man
lives the love of a woman
where oceans meet
where deserts greet
where stars collide
where dewdrops fall
Lashes caress
the dream in their eyes

Play Solitude...Sing...

Room 13

Doors close on a broken heart,
A broken man, a world apart,
I watched you down the motel hall,
Lonely stride with eyes that fall.
Turn you heart to my view,
I'll take you hand and rescue you.

I'll show you things you've never seen,
I'll make you dream in room thirteen.

Window's open to a poolside view,
There is a jacuzzi with room for two.
A little slow dancing to a Sinatra song,
The breeze in the curtains move along.
A king size bed with sheets colored blue,
I'll take you to the clouds, that's what I'll do.

I'll show you things you've never seen,
I'll make you dream in room thirteen.

A night to remember could be yours, just see.
There is a light on, and that light is me.

I'll show you things you've never seen
I'll make you dream in room thirteen.

SHADES OF MY GLOOM

In vertigo of night, in their riddled trance
Boldness of petals melt on washed-out shades,
As faces etch a quiet gloom in varied hues
Capturing splashed oil, neutral and bright
While I gaze longingly at a portrait…
Man and wife , as if , holding a child almost
Unseen …hidden through a float of blue-white.

Through dimming pain, a view lights up for a time
Where orange of moonlight quietly slips
Amid this rosette outburst and aching gray
With blossoms strewn along pale candlelight…
How languid colors begin to mold my thoughts
Drowning in a pang of loneliness… I ask
In silence..are the couple ,the babe dying?...dead?
And the fusion of tender, lonely motif allows me
To weep inside, captive in a gasping moan... the kind
Which shapes a tone between life and elegy.

Good Deeds

Good deeds are so precious
They are wonderful things
All are filled with compassion
Oh!...the happiness they bring!

They can not be corrupted
You can't buy them with cash
They are gifts...they are blessings
And they come in a flash!

Good deeds have a voice
And they whisper so clear
Of great tragedies, deep poverty
Things wrapped up in fear

They tell of the darkness;
Deep sorrows - fierce pains
They will whisper of wishes
That have turned into shame

Some tell of the hopeless
Knowing not what to do
They don't realize they are waiting
For someone like you

When desperate times...Oh!
Destructions...they come!
Good deeds with compassion
Will bring hope to some

A good deed can be all
That it takes at times
They will help others turn
From the dark to sunshine!

Do keep an ear open
Keep an eye open too;
They may tell of a good deed
That is waiting for you

How sweet are the feelings
That comes from good deeds
As you bless someone else
By fulfilling their needs

Good deeds are quite precious
Very powerful things...
They are filled with compassion
See? The hope that they bring?

Thank You For This Bounty, God

Thank you for this bounty, God
that you give to me
for grain that grows within the field
and fruit upon the tree
Thank you for the little seeds
that in the spring are sown
and with your gifts of sun and rain
have through the summer grown
Thank you for the farmers, Lord
and bless them for their toil
as now they gather in the fall
this bounty from your soil

but I wanted to share it with you today and dedicate it to Brian for the inspiration and
support he gives to us here at the Soup. RG

Blame Game

You’re so devoted to all your grudges,
You cherish them like they're a prize;
You hold them with pride on your pedestal
Bursting with bliss as your relationships die.

Next time you frame everyone's mistakes
And hang them right above their head,
You should hang up a mirror as well
And take a good look at yourself instead.

You love to play the blame game
So let's play another round-
What's wrong- are you too ashamed
To turn your finger around?

You're so foolish to expect anybody
To respect a narcissistic point of view;
Within your childish perception the lens
Is solely focused on you, you, you, and you.

Next time you frame everyone’s mistakes
And hang them right above their head,
You should hang up a mirror as well
And take a good, long look at yourself instead.

You love to play the blame game
So let's play another round-
What's wrong- are you too ashamed
To turn your finger around?

Yeah, you love to play the blame game
So let's play another round-
What's wrong- are you too ashamed
To turn your finger around?

His funeral

That he planned his funeral is factual
And being a prankster quite actual
He prerecorded his voice
So when we kneeled on the joist
He said, "Hi there! Don't I look natural."

A Greener Grass

You think I have a pretty face My dresses weaved from frills and lace You think that I'm a spoilt brat with diamonds around my neck and roses in my bed You think I own the pot of gold A blissful future to behold You think I live on a greener grass but you know nothing No ,you know nothing about my past There are chapters still on hold A thousand words untold There's emotion still enclosed in a lacrimal drop There is a tasteless tale,a colourless spume and large waves that fall on the shore There's a silent cry which keeps yelling why which keeps loving and hating, mending and breaking Pushing ,embracing our God My unfaithful devotion keeps begging in motion Asking what, where, when, and how long For how long should I wait for to feel the affection, love and protection to listen to daddy singing for me just one birthday song For how long should I pray for,to listen to daddy just calling out my name on the phone You think I have a pretty face My dresses weaved from frills and lace You think that I'm a spoilt brat with diamonds around my neck and roses in my bed You think I own the pot of gold A blissful future to behold You think I live on a greener grass but you know nothing No, you know nothing about my past You know nothing about the way I feel About deep scars that would never heal You just keep thinking that I live I live on a greener grass.

I Am But a Dreamer

I am but a dreamer
and in my dreams I play
where I live so happily
writing them my way
inside my illusions
where I know I belong
whistling a joyful tune
as I go along

Like a little spirit
I venture on the breeze
skipping in the gentle wind
doing what I please
with the rising sun I dance
wrapped inside his charms
across the golden morning sky
twirling in his arms

I can climb a mountain
or live among the trees
sail in a silver sailboat
on the seven seas
I can draw a moonlit night
ride on a bright moonbeam
and swim among the diamonds
in a velvet stream

I am but a dreamer
there's nothing in my way
living in the place I love
loving everyday
maybe it's a fairytale
but that's all right by me
I'm the master of my dreams
where I wander free

No one there can tell me
what is wrong or right
following what's in my heart
I live in the light
happy in my dream world
that's where I choose to stay
in the world where I belong
writing dreams my way

Twas A Full Moon Shining - Collab

Twas a full moon shining on a cool summer night And hound dogs were howling at its silver shadowed light. I heard but a whisper on the cool evening breeze, Twas the voice of a woman I used to chase and tease. Our love was forever, at least I used to think it so. Then came the day she left me; I wondered, where’d she go? If true love lasts forever, was this love not for me? I heard an answer on the wind - Son, your true love is she. A true love will always linger in the shadows of your heart Even when the one you love has chosen to depart. True love is the love you gave, no matter what the cost It will return to you again, for it is never lost. Like a full moon shining on a cool summer night With placid waters glistening in its silver shadowed light Love comes like a whisper on a cool evening breeze A gentle touch, a soft caress, a rustle in the trees. There is no bitterness in the past, if your love was true The sweetness in the memory is true love’s gift to you A rising sun or new full moon is not a memory And so will love come once again, if you let it be. Twas a full moon shining on a cool summer night And hound dogs were howling at its silver shadowed light I heard but a whisper on the cool evening breeze, Twas the voice of love’s song...answering my pleas.

Leaves of the Dead

Leaves of the Dead

Les feuilles mortes

They fall like dead soldiers
Dreams knifed in the dead of night
It is as yesterday
Once more
Where love was kissing my cheek
Where hopes had dreams
One could see the blossom of loves desires

Leaves falling in the park
Autumn coldness brings the dark
Death marching towards winters fate
Young love broken at the graveyard gates

Ah now I am holding a cane
I have all but forgotten yesterday
I have no lovers
My friends have all but gone
To their designated places in the ground
Piano keys in soft lit lounges
I remember the vodka stingers and sultry singers
Telling me life was jolie oh so jolie
If only there was love…

Leaves falling in the park
Autumn coldness brings the dark
Death marching towards winters fate
Young love broken at the graveyard gates

At 3am, with burnt cigarette butts
If only there was love
When the metro finds it’s unwitting end
Reality and cubes make ugly paintings
There are only drunks
Dreamers and bums
Thief’s picking pockets of your final instructions

Leaves falling in the park
Autumn coldness brings the dark
Death marching towards winters fate
Young love broken at the graveyard gates

If you can sober up and face the poverty
Of your empty aspirations of hope
Come to the bois de Vincennes
Where Kings and Queens danced and dined
What better place
To splay the butter
So that the knife slides smooth
Whilst the sun fades kissing the seine
Autumn leaves will fall
Dead again

Leaves falling in the park
Autumn coldness brings the dark
Death marching towards winters fate
Young love broken at the graveyard gates

How Do You Say Goodbye

How do you say goodbye to someone you've loved
With whom you have shared your life
Is a goodbye enough or "I'll see you around"
After walking together through strife?

How do you say goodbye to a person who held
Such a great big space in your heart
Do you offer a hug, or a goodbye kiss
Or a wave of the arm as you part?

Who knew when you met and proceeded to walk
Down that road filled with places and things
That you'd find such a friend with the same cares as you
A relation unending it seemed

How do you say goodbye to that loved one or friend
Do you pretend that all is okay
Would you hold back the words and let silence prevail
Even though you have things left to say?

Did you have the chance to say your goodbye
To someone you thought was so true
Were you sad when you realized that you had to part
Or did it not bother you?

Was the goodbye you had a sudden thing
That came at you out of the blue?
Or was it a slow one - built up over time
Not hurting as much, cause you knew

What is it you do if they're taken from you
You're unable to say your goodbye
You can hope in your heart that they knew how you felt
But now - only tears left to cry

Did you watch as the love started slipping away
Wondering how could this possibly be
After all the good times - all the trials we went through
Was I really unable to see?

One thing is for sure, new days come - old days go
And love will be lost and found
It's important to know that you gave it your best
No matter what life brings around

Now it's time to let go and move on with your life
After all - tomorrows do come
How you face it today is the healing for you
Goodbye is the right thing for some

Aster 'Blue Autumn'

(This is a specific type of Aster with full name Aster 'Blue Autumn') Aster 'Blue Autumn,' summer wanes. The shining sky of dusk is drenched in splendor. Tremulously, I watch shadows that arrive all to soon-to purloin sun's last rays. Aster 'Blue Autumn,' how you thrive in fields amidst a throng of goldenrod! And always you forego the chill of nights that come to steal away the last of Summer's days. Aster 'Bue Autumn,' Virgo aches, and you're re-birthed from star dust that she cries- to bloom beneath blue skies until the fatal time when breath is snatched . . . Pensively I wait.
