UNTIL TOMORROW, FEEL SAFE IN MY WARM EMBRACE

Until tomorrow, feel safe in my warm embrace;
don't feel the rage of those frightening storms...
whisper a passionate wish--- a sentimental phrase.

Stars won't appear to delight, excite and appease;
and with gloominess and clouds to marr our days...
until tomorrow, feel safe in my warm embrace.

We are stupefied by the butterflies's frantic dance;
they swirl with joy, then slowly land on our shoulders...
whisper a passionate wish--- a sentimental phrase.

Shunning faith and obedience is to live without grace;
God has blessed us and given us true happiness...
whisper a passionate wish---a sentimental phrase.

And should unfaithfulness ever bring us disgrace,
let that thought quickly vanish into darkness;
until tomorrow, feel safe in my warm embrace...
whisper a passionate wish---a sentimental phrase.

Sodom and Gomorrah

Sodom and Gomorrah are here on earth
Wickedness and debauchery abound
Transgressors need a spiritual rebirth

I thank God for the blessed Savior’s birth
Depravity and sin are all around
Sodom and Gomorrah are here on earth

Know not them what their salvation is worth?
I hope and pray corrupt souls will rebound
Transgressors need a spiritual rebirth

Fasten the Lord’s armor around your girth
And pray from sun up until the sun goes down
Sodom and Gomorrah are here on earth

The aftermath of salvation is mirth
Heavenly choir make triumphant sound
Transgressors need a spiritual rebirth

Sin is plentiful, holiness is dearth
May the souls that are lost be swiftly found
Sodom and Gomorrah are here on earth
Transgressors need a spiritual rebirth

Villanelle: Think of the trillions who have gone unsung before us

Villanelle: Think of the trillions who have gone away unsung before us

Think of trillions who have gone away unsung before us
Think what they have left us without staking any claim
Yet the prophets we recall have all been thrust upon us

Those who used this world for their own petty purposes
Those who abused mankind to hoist their peoples’ name
Think of trillions who have gone away unsung before us

Think of the common grammars that underlie languages
Think of the basic numbers logic’s foundations contain
Yet the prophets we recall have all been thrust upon us

Think of hieroglyphs cuneiforms carved into papyruses
Think of the ideo-phonograms that alphabets disdain
Think of trillions who have gone away unsung before us

Think on all ancient thinkers from King Wen to Socrates
Then think on what has been proclaimed in God’s name
Yet the prophets we recall have all been thrust upon us

Think on what makes particular faiths amenable to races
And wonder if all Life’s simply not Somebody’s idle game
Think of trillions who have gone away unsung before us
Yet the prophets we recall have all been thrust upon us

Advice for Falling Angels

As angels descending, bring from above,
Heavenly Father’s reminders so grand,
Praised echoes of mercy, whispers of love.

Ere in a tight spot; if sin comes to shove,
Listen to father; obey God’s command.
As angels descending, bring from above.

His beautiful message that fights Satan’s glove,
Faith to continue and strength to withstand,
Praised echoes of mercy, whispers of love.

Heralding wisdom from hopes sweetest dove.
A branch of the olive clinched in faith’s hand.
As angels descending, bring from above.

Love everlasting, which Jesus taught of.
Righteous salvation, which for us was planned,
Praised echoes of mercy, whispers of love.

Enticement seems sweet, like deadly foxglove.
Succumbing brings darkness into a bright land.
As angels descending, bring from above,
Prized echoes of mercy, whispers of love-

More the imagination more damnation
Where would Earth be without Galileo’s lens
The Truth dares us in the face – condemnation

Ancient Greeks refined the mind spirit nation
And yet let their gods abuse their common sense
More the imagination more damnation

All roads led to Rome and the Inquisition
El Hidalgo de la Mancha’s comeuppance
The Truth dares us in the face – condemnation

Quixotic souls in windmills seek ruination
Who made Socrates take hemlock in Athens
More the imagination more damnation

Which mundane god revealed depths of Creation
Which holy tract mysteries of Existence
The Truth dares us in the face – condemnation

Hermeneutics – art of deviation
How we love to split mythic hairs with incense
More the imagination more damnation
The Truth dares us in the face – condemnation

All Man and man-made things given time perish
Nations religions empires loghead gods
Not the Universe though in splendour relish

Would that Man saw fit to live free of fetish
He could free himself from the need to cross swords
All Man and man-made things given time perish

When Man gives birth to gods he’s more than selfish
Thinks he could earn the favours of grateful gods
Not the Universe though in splendour relish

Not one god we create respect we their wish
Those who engender them wish to end up gods
All Man and man-made things given time perish

What the Buddha wished we may still accomplish
Make not human suffering the burden of gods
Not the Universe though in splendour relish

Pull that arrow from bleeding breast in anguish
Attend to your gaping wounds not those of gods
All Man and man-made things given time perish
Not the Universe though in splendour relish

The Helper

Do not leave me alone in this darkness.
We rave and rant in suffering, who won’t?
Dwell in me and come help me to bear this.

Men of the world know better than this, bliss!
Take pleasure from life, and that’s it! But, don’t!
Do not leave me alone in this darkness.

Knowledge and power is world’s raw justice.
Without a reason is simply a taunt.
Dwell in me and come help me to bear this.

Wealth is the key to health and happiness.
Life is a reverie, money can paint.
Do not leave me alone in this darkness.

Self-contentment is utter completeness.
There isn’t any need for You. A feint!
Dwell in me and come help me to bear this.

You are my Helper in this somberness;
Incompleteness becomes liberating.
Do not leave me alone in this darkness;
Dwell in me and come help me to bear this.

Let Not Thy Soul Wander

Let not thy soul wander through the dark of night.
A wandering soul finds no rest from the mundane.
Go forth, instead, firmly fixed on Heaven’s light.

Clothe thyself in marvelous spiritual delight.
Steadfastly seek the Savior; let faith ascertain.
Let not thy soul wander through the dark of night.

When the world whirls its pains, God gives great insight.
Sink not into sorrows that can drive the mind insane.
Go forth, instead, firmly fixed on Heaven’s light.

Let delight overpower darkness and fright.
Trust in the Lord; from wicked choices abstain.
Let not thy soul wander through the dark of night.

It is not easy to always choose the right.
Let not the stains of sin and darkness enchain.
Go forth, instead, firmly fixed on Heaven’s light.

Forgive, all, even yourself; let hope reignite.
Eternal happiness is a good goal; obtain.
Let not thy spirit wander through the dark of night.
Go forth, instead, firmly fixed on Heaven’s light.

More the man-made gods the more the quarrel
Who wants to pray in a private night-club
Each faithful thinks his god’s beyond riddle

Where faithfuls gather their gods aren’t idle
Rather would they arm theirs to teeth with club
More the man-made gods the more the quarrel

Strange each nation sports some god from cradle
Nations want exclusive membership club
Each faithful thinks his god’s beyond riddle

All nations dream holding World by bridle
So they give their gods the fossil fumes rub
More the man-made gods the more the quarrel

When words from gods one another needle
Do they hesitate to reach for the club
Each faithful thinks his god’s beyond riddle

Now that gods got our Earth in a throttle
Will ONLY GOD intervene: that’s the rub
More the man-made gods the more the quarrel
Each faithful thinks his god’s beyond riddle

Carbon molecules woken up by thunder
Is violence life-wire of existence
Can God come into being beyond Nature

Violence in warp and woof of our nature
Can one avoid being part of violence
Carbon molecules woken up by thunder

Who put Arjuna on guard against anger
The cause of the Great War was not in suspense
Can God come into being beyond Nature

Arrogate violence and commit blunder
Can one take life and affirm his existence
Carbon molecules woken up by thunder

Taoists live life in accord with Nature
The seasons come and go in munificence
Can God come into being beyond Nature

Make not god to quibble about his Father
No god re-appears like this Grand Existence
Carbon molecules woken up by thunder
Can GOD come into being beyond Nature

Followers are made from day one in the womb
Not gods but by men in the full-length skirt
Pavlov mice all salivate stunned stark in tomb

Do not men in frocks drive terror promise doom
Those who heed not words they stuff into gods first
Followers are made from day one in the womb

Can honourable men raise gods from the tomb
Invite them back to earth slake believers’ thirst
Pavlov mice all salivate stunned stark in tomb

Who split their gods’ words plunge followers in gloom
Make dissenters fight staunch believers first
Followers are made from day one in the womb

Sexless men tear each other under own dome
Then order robot men to give up the ghost
Pavlov mice all salivate stunned stark in tomb

Who forbids men from praying under one dome
Don’t middle-men stoked by sybarite Sophist
Followers are made from day one in the womb
Pavlov mice all salivate stunned stark in tomb

Shout it hoarse on mountains how gods stand for peace
And in private plot the ruin spurn another’s faith
Do all voices hark to one and same mouth-piece

Zoroastrians Zen-Buddhists Jains Taoists
Do they seek to adorn other faiths in wreath
Shout it hoarse on mountains how gods stand for peace

Declare there’s just ONE GOD when put in tight squeeze
Why then cling on for life on one’s own blind faith
Do all voices hark to one and same mouth-piece

No believer conditioned by birth will release
Supremacy of his another’s not to loath
Shout it hoarse on mountains how gods stand for peace

Look How religions flourish in locked inland seas
Once kings renounce or conquerors ram down faith
Do all voices hark to one and same mouth-piece

And think why the ONLY GOD does not want peace
The Creator sets the ground rules in good faith
Shout it hoarse on mountains how gods stand for peace
Do all voices hark to one and same mouth-piece

Quakers on Pacifism

It is not “P. C.” to be anti-war,

Or to refuse to stuff one’s face with meat.

Quakers are not pacifists anymore

By definition. It’s not like before.

These things are individual. We can cheat.

It is not “P. C.” to be anti-war.

We cannot break an invisible law.

We rubbed it out, you see. I should repeat:

Quakers are not pacifists anymore.

Some are. Some aren’t. There’s nothing we stand for.

We can have bacon, toast or Shredded Wheat.

It is not “P. C.” to be anti-war –

To be vegetarian, vegan or

In any way, restrict what one may eat.

Quakers are not pacifists anymore.

This, Friends, is the conclusion we must draw –

Won’t vote on this; we might just face defeat:

It is not “P. C.” to be anti-war.

Quakers are not pacifists anymore.

Turn the other cheek kneel while kith and kin wail
Would that faithful followers step in between
Resort to arms in months when Yin blazes trail

Whose advice the Essene monk took in travail
Whose voice the Consul heard to nail the Essene
Turn the other cheek kneel while kith and kin wail

How easy the truth in search of the Holy Grail
Whispered under the pipal tree’s leafy sheen
Resort to arms in months when Yin blazes trail

The elephant flaps its ears trumpeting flail
The charge comes to a halt before enemy mean
Turn the cheek kneel while kith and kin wail

The Yin yearns to hook the Yang without whom frail
Engage not the enemy when out to bait lean
Resort to arms in months when Yin blazes trail

Risk not the lot of what virtues earn entail
On the chance encounter demolishing Yin
Turn the other cheek kneel while kith and kin wail
Resort to arms in months when Yin blazes trail

Villanelle: The Dilemma of the Non-Violent – 23

We make gods and to protect resort to arms
Do gods call upon men to save their honour
The more we cherish them quick the call to arms

Are gods so helpless as to be without qualms
Are not true gods invincible with valour
We make gods and to protect resort to arms

If gods are Gods Almighty full of charms
Could not they simply make this Life disappear
The more we cherish them quick the call to arms

There’s no business like the call for holy alms
Care may the poor sick spastics die of hunger
We make gods and to protect resort to arms

No god we ever raised left us his own psalms
So we split his word to kill brother doubter
The more we cherish them quick the call to arms

If gods could wage wars would they need human arms
Could not they through skies rage and storm with thunder
We make gods and to protect resort to arms
The more we cherish them quick the call to arms

Does the fault lie in us or in warring gods
Paragon Bard of Avon beg pardon
Do stars exert a force not owned by bards

Do stars grow heads of State to confuse gods
The trust we hoist high on flags flapless groan
Does the fault lie in us or in warring gods

He who blows horn for his god usurps his Lord’s
The Enlightened One begged us leave Him alone
Do stars exert a force not owned by bards

How many who blast themselves for their gods
Their holy books’ basic tenets condone
Does the fault lie in us or in warring gods

Let not religions parade on public roads
Prayer in the soul’s a private union
Do stars exert a force not owned by bards

Teach infants at school all about the gods
Till parents all know truth about religion
Does the fault lie in us or in warring gods
Do stars exert a force not owned by bards

Down the Rabbit Hole

I wish I had just said no
the first time I tasted sin
It's like going down a rabbit hole.

I thought it would help me reach my goal
like a genie from Aladdin
I wish I had just said no.

Sins to make life less dull
Sins to make a friend
I wish I had just said no.

Can't stop, can only go
I'm worse than I've ever been
It's like going down a rabbit hole.

God, please take control
Make me a saint again
I wish I had just said no
It's like going down a rabbit hole.

LOST AND FOUND

To lose one’s faith is such a great disaster.
Life falls apart, disintegrates, and dies.
Climb back again. We have an amazing Master.

A man I know lost faith, and his life’s design.
He gave up hope, and took to pity’s resign.
To lose one’s faith is such a great disaster.

He broke a heart, a marriage, and kept the kids
But shredded them too, for lack of vision’s skids.
Climb back again. We have and amazing Master.

His wife forgot her passion for truth’s wild fire,
And wandered, lost, into world’s framed by desire.
To lose one’s faith is such a great disaster.

But God was on her case. He never left her,
And brought her longing heart within His spur.
She climbed back again to her amazing Master.

The tale goes on, for the children need to know
Why father’s fall had made them suffer so,
Why losing faith is such a great disaster.
Climb back again. We’ve such an amazing Master.

Two roads of a twisted fate

I see two roads of a twisted fate
Lying before me like hell's gate
What sins have I done to be forced paths
To suffer such torments of opposing wraths
Down one lies pain in pouring rain
Trying in vain to cleanse the earth's stain
With no notion or idea it's not all in vain
The other lies sin and self gain
Demonic laughter clang with chain as nature rides its lane
With pleasures of flesh and blood flowing on a corrupting plane
So with disdain I pound my brain
As time keeps dripping from my vein
Is it the sins and lust that cover the crust
That I must make meeting before my head bust
Or must I refrain because it's truly insane
For what value can debauchery really contain
Why must I suffer and strain if I can't be vain
How humble can I feign to those who let life drain

I can't take this, it's just not fair
No one lends a hand or care
Not even when I help them
Does a seed of ardor stem

It hurts less and less... so strange
How much less til my thoughts derange

When will the falling water remove pride and fear
When will I see worth when those rainy skies clear
When will restraint and reverence leave
How can I dance with flesh if I must grieve

These paths, they are so twisted
Yet choosing one my mind's insisted
Do I swim upstream against the grain
Or reap the rewards of the slain

Do I fight, or all confide?
To unite, or to divide?

Let Not Love Take Your Life and Soul

Let not love take your life and soul.
Love should be cherished with no martyr.
Take not a life, find new life to cajole.

One love may be forever, while another may troll.
This may trigger heartbreak, this would be harder,
Let not love take your life and soul.

These days they may think there is a better role.
Especially if they meet a so called charmer,
Take not a life, find new life to cajole.

You may be left without anyone to console.
Though you still have such gracious honor,
Let not love take your life and soul.

You may feel you are lost inside a hole.
You only have to look for new love to conquer.
Take not a life, find new life to cajole.

Take out your lonesomeness for a little stroll.
Forget the past, let not your hate harbor
Let not love take your life and soul.
Take not a life, find new life to cajole.

The Tolling Bells

Hear the ringing of the bells.
Wake up! Wake up ye citizens!
Rejoice! Rejoice for ye are saved!

Angelic choir voices swell.
Join in fellowship with ye friends.
Hear the ringing of the bells.

Oh! How I love the tolling bells.
Bewildered hearts our savior mends.
Rejoice! Rejoice for ye are saved!

When Jesus comes, no one foretells.
On Him your tarnished soul depends.
Hear the ringing of the bells.

In your heart His spirit dwells.
Repent and be free of your sins.
Rejoice! Rejoice for ye are saved!

All weary souls be compelled.
Wake up! Wake up ye citizens!
Hear the ringing of the bells.
Rejoice! Rejoice for ye are saved!
