Is it a fantasy

If I give my love to you
And this is no fantasy
Promise me you will be true

Darling why are you so blue
Don’t deny your ecstasy
When I give my love to you

After all that we’ve been thru
Don’t give up so easily
Promise me you will be true

Our love we can renew
Cast away your misery
When I give my love to you

Sometimes we may go askew
But our ship will sail this sea
If we both will remain true

Friends and lovers are too few
But this is no fantasy
If I give my love to you
Promise me you will be true

Someone tell me
If it’s easy being
A lover and a friend?

This is a villanelle with a questionku.

mother WHO i HATE

Mother, mother can't you see?
How much are you putting the needle,
Deep inside of my heart?
I know the pain won't go away!
I know you are blind to see the truth!

Pain pain pain,
When will you go away?
Anger, hate & discouragement
Always comes my way!
What am I supposed to do?
I feel alone deep inside,
I feel the empty pressure against my chest,
In a prison of hate,
I am sick of the people who I love,
Betraying me & ruining the trust,
God above who sees your actions,
I hope He will never forgives you,
For you who keep on sin.

One day you will see
Throw my eyes & my pain,
One day you will stop on pretend,
Realize your mistakes,
It will be too late,
I will be gone far away,
I will never come back again!

The Time Store

I want to go to the time store and buy more
Another year another day to
Enjoy simple things we didn't make time for.

We could sit on the beach and watch the shore
Go to a still lake and fish from a canoe
I want to go to the time store and buy more.

I want to keep every promise to you I ever swore
Bake fresh bread with you to dip in cheese fondue
Enjoy simple things we didn't make time for.

Let's tell our kids all of your family lore
Adopt new kittens and listen to their mew
I want to go to the time store and buy more.

Let's paint a rainbow using every color
Mix and invent new ones with a unique hue
Enjoy simple things we didn't make time for.

With bent knees, we'll pray on the floor
Praise God for little things like morning dew
I want to go to the time store and buy more
Enjoy simple things we didn't make time for.

Villanelle: Nations barely survive the turbulence of international events

Villanelle : Nations barely survive the turbulence of international events

Nations barely survive the turbulence of international events
Yet end up like interpersonal relations with other nations
Nations rise and fall yet some hardly ever merit compliments

What great Luxuor grandeur falls now to Egyptian peasants
The glory of five thousand years broken by Arab civilisations
Nations barely survive the turbulence of international évents

What great good from just Asoka’s illustrious achievements
Held Hindu sub-continent together through Muslim invasions
Nations rise and fall yet some hardly ever merit compliments

What great Aristotelian tutorship of Alexander’s managments
Kept the shores of Peloponnese free of Xerxes’s Zoroastrians
Nations barely survive the turbulence of international events

What great King Wen’s hexagrams and King Wu’s comments
Inform the sacrifices of Mao’s Long March peregrinations
Nations rise and fall yet some hardly ever merit compliments

Do nations come together only to blow asunder fundaments
Nations apart every life deserves equal rights and conditions
Nations barely survive the turbulence of international events
Nations rise and fall yet some hardly ever merit compliments

Villanelle for Valentine's Day

Villanelle for Valentine’s Day

Remember we danced to Charlie Parker on the dorm-room floor?
Our hearts were staccato and wouldn’t heed a rest,
And I read you a poem: tides crashing my love into your shore.

Gentle jazz carried us, on currents, across the floor,
Your laugh against my cheek from my whispered jest
When we danced to Charlie Parker on the dorm-room floor.

My heart was bass booms, it was something you could not ignore.
It beat with a mallet, a roller falling against your breast,
And I read you a poem: tides crashing my love into your shore.

You heard mine, your heart always singing to implore,
My rhythm was awful, steps stuttered, it was not my best
When we danced to Charlie Parker on the dorm-room floor.

Finally I began to dance, to float, knowing it was your
Heart that I heard, singing over tides’ waves’ crest,
So I read you a poem: tides crashing my love into your shore.

Our dance was a music, a tide we could not ignore,
On my shoulder, my heart, you took your rest,
As we danced to Charlie Parker on the dorm-room floor.
And I read you a poem: tides crashing my love into your shore.
