Chariot of Fire: co-written with OE Guillermo

     I stand in silence and behold the sight,
     staring in wonder, waiting for thunder.
     A chariot of fire travels through the night.

     The white-winged horses gallop in full flight
     pulling at the reins; flowing are their manes.
     I stand in silence and behold the sight.

     Where are they going? There’s a shining light
     leading all the way, so they will not stray.
     A chariot of fire travels through the night

     amidst the heaven where in pure delight
     resides the Master, the sweetest lover.
     I stand in silence and behold the sight.

     Blessings whisked to amble slowly with plight;
     heartbeats race to sway, courage on display.
     A chariot of fire travels through the night.

     Armoured by God’s spirit they ride like knights
     fearless from pain; victory, their peak gain.
     I stand in silence and behold the sight.
     A chariot of fire travels through the night.

Through the Winter Cold he Rode

(old erased Poems)

By the moonlight, night's pearly softness glowed,
In  their  slumber  deep,  fog  skirted  knolls  shoaled;
Through the winter cold, clipp'ty clop he rode.

Down the twisted alleys and to highroad,
Flew  out  in  wind  his  fluttering  hair  gold;
By the moonlight, night's pearly softness glowed.

In the silence bare as the mist bellowed
O'er  the  turrets  enshrouded  in  their  fold;
Through the winter cold, clipp'ty clop he rode.

His shadow tossed on the water that flowed,
As  galloped  o'er  the  bridge, ' twixt  moorlands  old;
By the moonlight, night's pearly softness glowed.

Meet his bonnie lassie her chin furrowed
'neath  her  cherry  lips  in  his  hands  to  hold;
Through the winter cold, clipp'ty clop he rode.

Her dark eyes under green eaves that mellowed,
Where blushes of their love in whispers told
By  the  moonlight,  night's  pearly  softness  glowed;
Through the winter cold, clipp'ty clop he rode.

Iron Horse, 1840

These grassy margins under sky of blue,
so peaceful. Then a rumble, sudden blast –
can you stand your ground as the train roars through?

Here’s Progress. Boston, all across this New
England, folks with tickets for transit massed.
These grassy margins under sky of blue

once buffered cities. Landscape’s subtle hue,
a pleasant walk – gone, outmoded, outclassed.
Who could stand his ground as the train roars through

for Commerce? Stockcars in which ram and ewe
are hurtled toward their slaughter house, too fast
for grassy margin under sky as blue

as berries ripe in August – something true
that you could taste, and savor to the last.
Can you stand your ground as the train roars through

hauling its cargo? Where the wild-rose blew,
now coal-smoke smudges what was, but is past.
Those grassy margins where the sky was blue
couldn’t stand their ground when the train roared through.

Girl In Red Cotton Hose

Barn dancing, taffy pulling, bobing for apples
Enters the girl with the red cotton hose
Riding in a wagon pulled by horse of gray dappled

Prettiest girl, girl of his dreams, her smile was ample
Asking her for a dance he's so glad he chose
Barn dancing, taffy pulling, bobing for apples

So much fun those community socials one can't grapple
At the notion, meeting new people where love can grow
Riding in wagon pulled by horse of gray dappled

Fun in the hay all the way as they rode as a couple
Now more fun inside the barn my she has cutest nose
Barn dancing, taffy pulling, bobing for apples

Bobing for apples showing her how to grapple
All the way down, show her how it goes
Riding in wagon pulled by horse gray dappled

So much fun with the girl in red cotton hose
Some day after love with her grows their children goes
Barn dancing, taffy pulling, bobing for apples
Riding in the wagon pulled by a horse gray dappled
